MAIN ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT
Performs preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment according to supplier specifications. Estimates time and material costs for assigned projects. Dismantles equipment to gain access to and repairs defective parts using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing devices. May fabricate devices and assemblies from steel. May weld, thread pipe and solder using gas and electric equipment. Re-assembles and tests equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating condition is restored.
Inspects and troubleshoots electrical systems, equipment and fixtures using testing devices and diagnoses basic operational problems. Takes corrective action and obtains necessary repair parts per procedure in assigned area.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Estimate cost of carpentry repair or new projects in terms of labor, material, and overhead and perform rough and/or finish work upon approval.
* Accurately order and account for material and labor relative to assignments.
* Maintain all safety and code requirements of the state, local and Board of Education guidelines.
* Perform general maintenance work inside and outside the physical plant such as ceiling, roof, electrical, plumbing, concrete, masonry, glazing, insulation, tile, and locks.
* Perform district-wide grounds maintenance work such as trimming trees, clearing fence lines, subsurface drainage, and maintenance of underground sprinkling systems.
* Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase; maintain the inventory of district-owned hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials, and supplies; troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on boilers (summer and winter months).
* Maintain vehicle systems.
* Perform monthly inspections on all vehicles.
* Analyze requirements and make recommendations on schedule for preventative maintenance program for district equipment.
* Prepare and audit the preventive maintenance program and maintain related records and reports on maintenance operations.
* Maintain a thorough knowledge and ability to repair components on all systems, including the ability to operate shop equipment.
* Perform activities to aid in the conversation of water, electricity, and gas in accordance with the district energy management program.
* Maintain an inventory of regularly used items and reorder as needed with supervisor permission. Order parts as needed
* Perform any other tasks as assigned by employee's supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Preventative Maintenance Technician (PM Tech) who will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs at our various plants throughout Southeast Louisiana. The PM Tech will service plant equipment, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues and work to ensure minimal downtime. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, excellent communication and a commitment to safety. At times the PM Tech will work independently and at times will work with other members of the maintenance or operations department.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on ready mix plants and plant equipment including but not limited to, mixers conveyors and batching equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues to ensure optimal plant operations
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures and downtime
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including repairs made and parts used
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities
Collaborate with Lead Preventative Maintenance Technician, Plant Manager, Operations Manager and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks

Requirements
Qualifications:
3 years of experience in plant maintenance, preferably in the concrete or construction industry

Ability to work independently with minimum oversight and ability to work as a team
