Amentum is seeking a Controls/CNC Technician III to join our 1st Shift industrial maintenance team in Lafayette, IN. Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00pm; hours may vary based on business demand. This position is responsible for acting as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting, servicing, and documenting the electrical and controls needs of process / production equipment in an industrial environment. Understands and participates in control systems, monitor/read ladder logic / PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, GE, MicroLogix, ControlLogix, and PLC-5) and HMI. Works with Allen Bradley, controls, and instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, as well as primary voltages up to and including 480v. Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed. Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve electrical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems Demonstrates ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. Performs General Maintenance of equipment as required. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the strong organizational/time management skills needed to be successful in this role. Responsibilities: Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs process/production machines, equipment, and related electrical equipment, such as electrical control circuits from 24v up to and including 480v AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs / ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary. Procures parts from crib systems, OEM or authorized vendors. Identifies and documents cost savings. Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments. Monitors site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements. Performs preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards. Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations. Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required. Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions. Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work. Amentum at GE Lafayette Aircraft Engine Assembly is seeking a 1st shift highly advanced Electrician to join our Maintenance Team in Lafayette, IN! This position is responsible for acting as a subject matter expert as a qualified Industrial/Production Electrician: troubleshooting, installation and documenting the electrical and control needs of facility switch gear, breaker panels, lighting, and process equipment in an industrial environment. This position would be directly responsible for maintaining all plant electrical needs and assisting automation technicians, control technicians and other engineering teams with production machinery and IT needs. Strong PLC troubleshooting experience is required. This position is also responsible for providing leadership to the maintenance staff and directing the daily workflow of the team. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the strong organizational/time management skills needed to be successful in this role. Responsibilities: Maintains, improves, and participates in developing control systems, installing electrical sub panels/services, buss plugs, Integrates systems and applies to production equipment. Works with controls and instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, as well as primary voltages up to and including 480v. Procures parts from crib systems, OEM, or authorized vendors. Performs preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
