Duties and responsibilities • Maintain welding machines, forklifts, crawler & overhead cranes, vehicles and hand tools. • Follow Lock Out / Tag Out procedures. • Disconnect and connect high voltage equipment such as welding machines and shore power for vessels under construction. • Enter and work in confined spaces. • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. • Repair and overhaul of large and small machinery. • Building maintenance. • Maintain and repair painting/blasting equipment. • Maintain and repair company trailers. • Connect shore power to vessels. • Maintain reports for all the above. • Ascend and work at heights of up to 40 feet. Education and/or Experience • Experience with 480V systems is required. • Experience or familiarity with 13kV systems is a plus. • Troubleshooting and mechanical skills are critical. Working Conditions • Work is outdoors or in an open shop area. There is no air conditioning or heating. Overtime and weekend work as required. • Uneven surfaces throughout job site, with sand, limestone, concrete, and railways outside, as well as concrete and railways inside.
