Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs mid to expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to location root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools.

Updates records and reviews CMMS history.
Troubleshoots and analyzes control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems.
Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data.
Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to small teams. Performs more advanced functions as a part of training and development.
Completes on-the-job and technical self-study programs for career development.
Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Behaviors Required:
High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
Associates degree with a Technical focus and 3 years of related experience in general industry; or 5 years of related experience in general industry or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program.
Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems. Can analyze problems and perform repairs.
Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate
May be required to travel.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.

The Maintenance Technician supports safe and reliable plant operations by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment, utilities, and facilities. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in chemical, agricultural, or industrial manufacturing.
Practical knowledge of welding, electrical, hydraulics, and pumps; experience with centrifuges, dryers, mills, and compactors a plus.
Strong troubleshooting ability and problem-solving mindset.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing strong maintenance support for all equipment in the Memphis Global Logistics Center. This includes caring for equipment in every area of the facilities. This position ensures all systems and equipment are well maintained and ready to function throughout all facility operations. This involves delivering on-schedule PM completion, continuous monitoring to detect and resolve issues before they interfere with distribution. Provide a high level of troubleshooting expertise to repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, forklifts, and HVAC. It is common to offer service on an urgent basis, including overtime, weekends, and during facility shutdowns. Must become familiar with corporate specifications and facility SOPs governing the operation of the Memphis Global Logistics Center and local GMP. Must observe all plant safety rules and instruct others in the accurate application of EHS. The successful candidate will foster innovation and continuous improvement, able to work independently and closely with facility operations, engineering, and quality groups to resolve issues. This position will assist Sr. Field Service Technicians and Lead Maintenance Technicians with scheduling and timely PM completion. Out of town travel may be required to attend seminars, visit equipment vendors, or other Baxter facilities. This position requires lifting up to 100 pounds periodically. Walking and navigating through the facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Experience with energy management, conservation and sustainability projects
Monitor assigned manufacturing lines and communicate with manufacturing to reduce down time.
Deliver advanced troubleshooting skills to fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Review current PMs, verify parts are in stock and complete PMs on time.
Build and rebuild machine assemblies.
Communicate equipment issues and work status to supervision, manufacturing, and management per the plant's Stop and Fix guidelines.
Initiate work orders using the Proteus CMMS system.
Perform PM work and assign tasks related to the facility operations when work is necessary to maintain equipment reliability and efficiency. Ensure accurate and timely completion of related documentation.
Record in Proteus or another downtime tracking system any issues, breakdowns, or alarms concerning all equipment. Start a work order and provide any extra documentation needed to address the problem. Examine equipment patterns related to these issues and assist in efforts to prevent repeated occurrences.
The Maintenance Technician will share knowledge and train less experienced technicians in all related equipment including safety, 6S, PM's.
Learn to handle robots in all normal production modes, troubleshoot and identify problems related to robots, machine output and quality defects as they occur.
Solicit help from Lead technicians and engineering assistance when needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Adhere to the Baxter Code of Conduct.
Maintain 100% on time completion of all required training.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience required; technical certifications a plus
Associates degree in a technical field or above a plus
7 years experience required
Ability to read & understand electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Develop strong troubleshooting skills.
Develop a good understanding of programmable logic controllers.
Must be capable of working independently, possess effective verbal and written communication skills, maintain clear documentation, have solid computer proficiency, focus on customer needs, and perform safely and efficiently under pressure.
Skilled in MS Word, MS Excel and Maximo or similar CMMS.
Desire to broaden knowledge and improve skill level is imperative.
