Your Role:
The Maintenance Technician 1 at MilliporeSigma will support the maintenance activities at the Sheboygan Falls site. The Maintenance Tech will repair equipment, facilities, and utility systems and assist in keeping the entire site running by completing corrective and preventive maintenance work orders. In addition, the technician will complete predictive maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability and life cycles. Daily tasks to include the following:
Maintain and troubleshoot industrial controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems
Operate and repair facility utilities, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC
Perform instrument calibrations and predictive maintenance tasks
Read and redline technical schematics and drawings
Operate forklifts, manlifts, and standard shop tools
Use CMMS and office software to manage and document work
Analyze issues, implement solutions, and drive process improvements
Direct contractors and support technicians as needed
Adhere to all safety protocols (LOTO, confined space) and report hazards
Participate in on-call rotations, weekend shifts, and occasional travel
Shift/hours: 3rd shift - 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Sun-Thu
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ year of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, or other maintenance discipline
Certifications in refrigerant appliance and HVAC electronic controls
Understanding of materials of construction and chemical compatibility
Leadership skills
Good documentation practices in Computer Maintenance Management System

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. What You Bring:
A high school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years' experience as a skilled trade technician, Comparable Military service experience and training, enrolled in or completion of a skilled trade diploma, certificate, apprenticeship, or associate degree.
Provides own tools, toolbox, and bag.
Proven electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical knowledge.
Available to work from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Able to properly operate a forklift, scissor lift, overhead crane, and pallet hand jack.
Stand, walk, climb, kneel, and bend for up to 8 hours, or more on occasion.
Safely use hand and power tools.
Have good dexterity, as some repairs or adjustments require loosening and tightening hardware in tight or hard-to-reach areas.
Able to lift, push, or pull up to 70 lbs.

TRAINING & ASSIGNMENT REQUIREMENT:
This position requires working at the Beaver Dam/Horicon locations for the first 6 months to 1 year for initial training and onboarding. After the training period, the technician will transition to the Watertown facility as their primary location but will be required to return to Beaver Dam/Horicon as needed to support maintenance needs.

Install new equipment or coordinate third-party installation.
Maintain facility grounds including mowing, trimming, weed control, snow removal, and salting entryways.

Perform daily inspections and startup checks on forklifts and other assigned equipment.
Troubleshoot and operate the wastewater treatment system in accordance with applicable SOPs.

Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Always follow proper lockout/tagout and electrical safety procedures.
Report on any unsafe conditions immediately and work with a safety-first mindset.
Ensure all work meets quality standards and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Exposure to extreme temperatures, machinery, moving equipment, and occasional hazardous materials.
Requires use of PPE including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and any task-specific protective equipment.

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will:
Perform regular and preventative maintenance on installed electromechanical equipment and effectively troubleshoot complex problems associated with electromechanical machinery and systems.
Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose and repair.
Be a valued member of the maintenance team, interacting with production, industrial maintenance, and cross-functionally to ensure reliability of equipment, service, safety, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Three plus years' electrical maintenance experience in heavy industrial environment.
Strong knowledge and experience with industrial electronics, AC/DC theory, power transmission, test instruments and instrumentation, VFD's, PLC's, ladder logic, relay logic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motor controls, and electrical construction.
Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of industrial equipment using schematic diagrams and equipment manuals as guides.
Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space, and mobile equipment operation.
Great teamwork, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship, Journeyman Certification, or equivalent work experience.
Steel industry experience.
Welding and light fabrication experience.
Experience with industrial communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet).
Experience with Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control loops and combustion controls.
Basic understanding of mechanical devices.
Strong communication skills and familiarity working in a team-based environment.
Safety awareness training.

What you'll do
* Safety:
Operations: Performs Duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Lead, and/or Plant Manager.
Housekeeping: General cleanliness and tidiness of the work area(s).
Responsibilities:
* Lockout Tag-Out (LOTO) on all work performed.
* Perform Maintenance responsibilities.
* Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on plant equipment, programmable controllers, transformers, voltage regulators, and machinery wiring; following electrical code, manuals, schematic drawings, and other specifications.
* Installs new equipment to the manufacturer's specifications. This could include, but not limited to, installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment.
* Repairs electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures; determining faulty wiring; inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery.
* Programs automated machinery by operating, testing for malfunctions, and verifying repairs to and programmable controllers and end devices.
* Monitor and fulfill work orders in an efficient and timely manner.
* Prioritize tasks as necessary and respond to RUSH maintenance requests.
* Help control downtime by informing production workers of routine electrical preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
* Work with, and train other Maintenance Personnel.
* Ability to work with vendors and other outside contacts, to gather information needed to maintain and repair equipment.
* Assist to maintain electrical spare parts inventory levels.
Builds/Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
* Suggest new processes when necessary and maintain a culture of quality.
* Other Duties: All other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Lead, and/or Plant Manager.
SKILLS
Skills and Requirements
* Completion of apprenticeship or electrical trade school education
* Working knowledge of 480, 277, 110 and 24 volt systems, motor controls and variable speed drives
* Ability to assist when needed in all areas of maintenance and production
* Standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds
* Ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below shoulder level
