This is the second level position in the maintenance classification and is expected to perform the job functions under direct supervision Responsibilities * Completes all daily paperwork and walk-through items and knows their importance. * May be required to go to different shifts for training or give training. * Provides maintenance support required to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment. * Performs Daily Preflight of any Production Line * Lubricates all machinery with the correct lubricants. * Changes drive belts, timing belts and other parts on all machinery drive belts, timing belts and other parts on all machinery. * Identify problems before they result in a hazard or downtime situation. * Changes filters and oils in plant equipment. * Maintains refrigeration compressor and pump oils. * Identifies and replaces bearings and seals as required. * Maintains company standards for cleanliness, inspect all HVAC units in our plant, safety and productivity in the plant area. * Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. * Restarts the Lantech stretch wrapper machine. * Welds with a stick welder on mild steel & have ability to use other types of welders with various metals. * Change out and clean & inspect all of the HVAC units in our plant. * Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical problems on lift trucks. * Must be able to read PID drawings. * Able to operate a forklift/ pallet jack/ boom lift and scissor lift * Must be able to PM/set-up and troubleshoot an egg pump * Able to put a freezer tunnel in defrost and back to normal operation * Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management Qualifications * Must be able to successfully pass an oral/written test to demonstrate required knowledge/abilities required of the position. * 1-3 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. * Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math skills and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools are required. * High School Diploma or GED. * Required to pass respiratory function & fit test. Working Conditions/Environment Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs, safety glasses, beardnets (if facial hair exists), hairnets, and steel-toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards. PAY: $25/hour + $3,000 Sign & Stay Bonus WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM BENEFITS: Available first day of hire PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and conveying systems/types of industrial equipment for poultry processing plant. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance using blueprints and diagrams to verify that all equipment is operating within required specifications and tolerances. May perform periodic testing and inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Under general supervision, repair and perform preventative maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e. mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveying systems, etc) using blueprint and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specifications Identify root cause of basic mechanical issues and performs repairs by welding, fabricating parts, basic pipefitting or replacing defective component; notify appropriate personnel if further attention is required Identify unsafe conditions and corrects; reports to appropriate personnel if unable to correct on own Assist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as needed Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations All other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent Pass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 1 required EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum 1 year experience in industrial machine predictive and preventative maintenance or demonstrated applicable mechanical and electrical knowledge Intermediate math and computer skills Ability to operate/use basic hand and power tools Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.
