Performs mechanical maintenance tasks such as preventative maintenance, machine repair, metal fabrication, welding, plumbing, painting and other common maintenance tasks by performing the following duties. Maintains electrical systems for equipment. Perform preventive maintenance system to maximize production time and minimize down time.
Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
Replaces or repairs machine belts.
Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
Assemble, reconfigure or move parts for workstations & other furnishings.
Patches or replaces plaster board and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.
Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
Operates forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts as required

DESCRIPTION OF LEVEL
Note: Any senior-level employee (levels II-III) may serve in a lead role. Senior-level employees may perform the full range of work identified in the levels preceding their own, may provide guidance to other Electricians, and may coordinate or oversee Electrical projects. Factors that may distinguish between senior levels include the scope of responsibility, oversight, and authority; the complexity of the work; and the employee's related work experience, education, and certifications.
ELECTRICIAN III (Supervisor): Performs highly advanced (senior-level) work in the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and circuits. Valid North Carolina Limited, Intermediate, or Unlimited NC Electrical License, or School Maintenance Electrician Certification required. Work involves overseeing the installation, replacement, and maintenance of electrical systems, apparatus, components of machinery, and equipment. May serve as a lead worker providing direction to others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may:
* Coordinates and oversees the installation, replacement, and maintenance of electrical systems, apparatus, circuits, and electrical components of machinery and equipment.
* Coordinates and oversees the inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, lighting, and power circuits.
* Develops plans and specifications for maintenance and renovation projects.
* Estimates the time and materials used on projects.
* Reviews the layout of electrical wiring to ensure compliance with specifications and electrical codes.
* Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with electrical codes.
* Maintains records and prepares reports on repairs and service to equipment.
* Plans and coordinates the installation of electrical systems.
* Plans long-range electrical maintenance programs.
* Leads regular Electrician safety and trade meetings.
* Supervises and provides directions to Electrician I & II staff members.
* Responsible for completing Electrician I & II evaluations.
* Performs related work as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent, supplemented by vocational or special training in an electrical trade, is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
* Knowledge of general principles and theory of electricity, and safety regulations.
* Skill in the use of tools.
* Ability to make maintenance or electrical repairs, diagnose malfunctioning units, maintain records, and communicate effectively.
REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION, OR LICENSURE
* Valid North Carolina Limited, Intermediate, or Unlimited NC Electrical License, or School Maintenance Electrician Certification required.
* May require appropriate licensure from the Department of Licensing and Regulation.
* May require appropriate hours of on-the-job training and passing an examination issued by the Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Follow procedures to perform required PM programs and general maintenance tasks including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic repairs
Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics for troubleshooting and repair of all plant equipment
Use and troubleshoot variable speed AC and DC drive controllers. Understand servo motion controls, incremental and absolute position encoders and resolvers
Analyze and repair PLC controlled equipment using the appropriate techniques and peripheral equipment
Conduct root cause failure analysis and use problem solving techniques to ensure effective repairs on equipment
Work to continuously improve the machines and the standardized procedures used to maintain them.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum two years' experience as an Electromechanical Technician.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience required.
Technical/vocational training and/or associate's degree preferred.
Previous PLC experience with a working knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs.
Must be a team player, have great communication skills and be flexible to accomplish the necessary tasks.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, logs and files in a timely manner.
