The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing basic maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of production equipment and facilities in a food manufacturing environment. This is an entry-level position working under direct supervision and providing support to senior technicians and the Maintenance Manager. The shift for this position is Wednesday-Sunday, 1:00pm-9:30pm with overtime as needed. What You'll Do: Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and basic repairs on production, packaging, and facility equipment. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on food processing and packaging equipment. Replace and adjust belts, bearings, seals, motors, and other basic mechanical components as directed. Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HazCom), and Cal/OSHA requirements. Maintain accurate and timely maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation. Clean, lubricate, and inspect machinery in accordance with preventive maintenance schedules. Support production teams during line changeovers, startups, and equipment setups. Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, or equipment malfunctions to supervision. What You'll Need: High school diploma or equivalent required. 0-2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safe maintenance practices.
