Summary A Facilities Maintenance Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment used in manufacturing. Their primary responsibility is to perform regular preventive maintenance on machinery and tools to facilitate successful production activities. Essential Job Functions Responsible for maintaining building facilities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to facilitate Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Collaborates with other technicians to complete tasks and support the Environmental Health & Safety team. Job Overview - The Maintenance/Electrical Mechanic position is within our Prestone division. This role will report to our Prestone Plant in Torrance, California. This is an on-site position, based at our Torrance office, working Monday through Friday. The role may require additional work on weekends as needed and will also require overtime when necessary to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and replace faulty machine components such as (but not limited to): motors, various pumps including fluid transfer pumps, drives, PLC controls, programming, commissioning/start-up control systems, gearboxes, tooling equipment, Blow Mold equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC and DC drives. Read and understand electrical schematic diagrams as well as industrial three phase 240V and 480V power distribution and VFD wiring practices. General Electrical work includes but is not limited to layouts, assembling, installing and testing electrical apparatus, measuring, cutting, threading and bending conduit, and installing, modifying and repairing panels, remote control equipment, electrical motors, power and lighting circuits. Executes daily machine checks, lubrication, machine start-up, clean-up, changeovers and adjustments to maintain the greatest operational efficiency. We are seeking a skilled Technician with expertise in assembling parts from subcomponents for motors. The ideal candidate will follow drawings, work instructions, and in-process inspection requirements to ensure high-quality assembly of stator windings and related components. Responsibilities * Assemble parts from subcomponents for motors following drawings and work instructions. * Operate equipment to make subcomponents, such as winders, presses, and cleats. * Cut and wind wire, insulate, and perform impregnation, buffing, painting, and testing of parts. * Interpret part drawings and engage in improvement discussions with technical support groups. * Participate in team efforts to solve departmental problems. * Position and fasten units to assemblies and subassemblies. * Connect and install electrical wiring and harnesses. * Measure dimensions and clearances of parts to determine tolerances using precision measuring instruments. * Test for mechanical reliability and inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure specifications are met. Essential Skills * Understanding of electrical theory and strong mechanical aptitude. * Proficiency in using precision measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers. * Significant mechanical knowledge and experience. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, complex assembly drawings, schematics, and diagrams. * Effective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Minimum of 2 years' experience in winding AC and DC Motors, generators, or coils. * At least 8 years of related mechanical assembly experience. * High School Diploma or equivalent with related training. * Knowledge of AS9100 procedures is a plus. * Experience with lathe, mill, and drill press is desired. * Basic math skills, with algebra being a plus. * Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed. * Excellent close vision and fine motor skills/manual dexterity required. Work Environment The role is based on a manufacturing floor environment. Candidates should be prepared to sit for prolonged periods, handle physical activities such as walking, standing, climbing, and lifting heavy items up to 50 lbs. Protective equipment must be worn as necessary. The work environment requires good eye/hand coordination and the ability to work well in a team. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $33.15/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
