What You'll Do
Direct day-to-day field activities for a crew of licensed electricians and helpers
Kick off each shift with engaging safety and productivity huddles
Build short-interval work plans and sequence tasks to keep the schedule on track
Champion compliance with the National Electrical Code, local regulations, and internal safety policies
Perform spot checks, walkthroughs, and QC punch lists to guarantee first-time-right installations
Lend hands-on support with conduit routing, wire pulls, terminations, and system energization
Forecast material and tooling needs, then relay requests to the project leadership team
Coach, mentor, and appraise team members, nurturing the next generation of leaders
Record daily progress, approve time entries, and keep jobsite documentation current
Coordinate closely with GC, HVAC, low-voltage, and commissioning partners to eliminate conflicts
What You'll Bring
Current Journeyman or higher electrical credential - or equivalent field experience
5+ years installing commercial or mission-critical power systems and 2+ years leading crews
OSHA-30 and adult First Aid/CPR (or ability to earn within 90 days)
Expert command of the NEC and best-practice installation methods for switchgear, feeders, and distribution in data center settings
Fluency reading plans, one-lines, and detail drawings; able to redline and update as-builts
Proficiency with construction tech such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar platforms
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between Sterling and DC project sites
Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment & Schedule

Electrical Technician Responsibilities
Employee will use his/her experience in the field to lead a team of 3-15 people, must be OK to work in the field "on tools".
Leadership - Consistently leads and motivates with positive influence that enables the team to contribute towards the effectiveness of achieving goals and project success
Coordinate with owner and manufacturing representatives to successfully test, troubleshoot and commission 480 V power distribution equipment
Test, configure parameters and modifies electrical systems for plant production
Troubleshoot and repair 480V and 120V panels including power wiring, control wiring, PLC's, relays and power supplies
A strong level of experience working with low - voltage power distribution electrical systems
Proficient with schematics, technical drawings and manual, able to identify issues and repair equipment
Safety - Has overall responsibility and dedication to keep the project and crews safe by setting the safety tone through active participation and involvement in the Interstates behavior based safety program
Communication - Builds productive relationships with onsite client representatives and allied trades on the project
Knowledge - Has an overall electrical and construction knowledge

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Desire and experience being on-site industrial electrical projects
Must have minimum of 5 years of service or maintenance experience

Location/Travel: This position will require travel in/around Dulles, VA - up to/within a 200-mile radius. Applicants must be permanently located in/around the office location or be willing to permanently relocate. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Per diem and mileage stipends applicable per company policy.
Work Schedule: Start times, break times and work hours vary per site and stage of our projects. Our employees work more than 40 hours per week but no more than 60, as part of our commitment to safety. Due to the type of construction, weekend work maybe required on occasion.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, this role is often exposed to high/precarious places, risk of electrical shock, and all outside weather conditions. This role is expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Due to the nature of our work and our client base, this role may involve tasks in an environment exposed to dust. Candidates should be comfortable working in these conditions and complying with safety standards to protect their well-being.

Dean|Fluor is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician.
Our Electrical Maintenance Technician Job activities include installation, maintenance, testing, calibration and commissioning of electrical systems and components. Electrical Maintenance Technicians will work on low, medium and high voltage systems to ensure electrical maintenance is completed safely, on schedule and within equipment manufacturer's recommendations.
Responsibilities
Installation, maintenance, testing, calibration and commissioning of electrical systems and components.
Act as “Employee in Charge” on some jobs, ensuring that jobs are efficiently planned and safely completed.
Perform other assignments as required. Some supervision required.
Read and interpret one line drawing, schematics drawings and other service documents, including manufacturer's instructions and manuals.
Responsible for maintaining personal support equipment, PPE, hand tools and test equipment.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others in your assigned work area by ensuring understanding and compliance with safety policies, practices and procedures.
Ability to identify and wear appropriate PPE as required by the task being performed.
Ability to understand and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures and Switching Plans.
Requires troubleshooting capabilities, to include the digital multi-meters, clamp on ammeters, power quality meters, infrared scanners, circuit tracers
Simple protective relay calibration and commissioning.
Perform point to point verification of control wiring.
Perform equipment switching, isolation, LOTO, zero volt check and grounding.
Perform maintenance, tests and inspections on the following equipment: high voltage SF6 circuit breakers, medium voltage vacuum circuit breakers, low voltage power circuit breakers, switchboards, panel boards, ground systems, motor starters, variable frequency drive's, low and medium voltage cables, low, medium and high voltage switches, ground fault systems, isolation transformers, two-winding transformers, power transformers, instrument transformers, automatic transfer switches, static transfer switches, sectionalized switches, batteries, and all equipment associated with low and medium voltage substation and switchgear systems.
Working knowledge of NETA MTS testing specifications
Accurately record field data for all tests and inspections utilizing Power DB and Maximo.
Assist with start-up services on switchgear and electrical systems up through 138 kV.
Conduct safety meetings as required.
Ensure compliance with Dean Fluor environmental and safety policies.
Maintain strong team and client relationships.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED coupled with
A minimum of 10 years of progressive and hands-on experience in an environment of similar proportions and mission as the assigned area of responsibility.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to efficiently schedule and execute work in a dynamic environment with large numbers of equipment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical instructions, plans blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NETA maintenance practices, maintenance and supply procedures, and quality control procedures.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex electrical systems, perform damage assessments, estimate maintenance, parts, and manpower requirements, diagnose malfunctions, and employ testing and inspection
techniques.
A minimum of five years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of electrical systems, controls, generators, and life safety systems, including five years related experience in data center or complex mission critical environments
Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders, and to lift equipment over six feet above ground
Must conform to all city, state and federal licensing and certification requirements.
Possess an active License (determined by the location of services)

What You'll Do:
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.

Document and Record Information. Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date.
Perform General Physical Activities. Perform a variety of tasks that assist with the operation of the plant, including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.

Skills You'll Need:
Experience. Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
