What you will do:
The specific duties include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Support planning, designing, and evaluating various components of the network.
Providing specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments.
Support level duties will include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment.
Primary focus will be on, handling internal projects for operations, driving time-sensitive initiatives, support ITIL service area activities (problem management, incident management, service request fulfillment, etc.) and driving specific tasks to a successful conclusion, operations management, configuration/change management oversight, service level agreements (SLA).
Knowledge and capability to use tools and analytics in areas like Service Now to improve signal to noise ratios and prioritization across the team.
Adhere to and improve standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in a matrixed organization supporting the prime contractor and CMS.
Demonstrated ability to manage a team composed of Network & Firewall Administrators
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.

BS degree and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters degree with 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.
Experience with Cisco technologies with recent experience in Cisco ACI
Experience with F5 Load balancers
Experience with physical connection/access to data center hardware via console serial for router/switches & using a crash cart to connect to servers
Experience with rack/stack gear, running copper/fiber cables
Experience with using ticketing/change management systems like ServiceNow
Experience in following strict change control and guiding others in following the change control process
Mentor and provide guidance to junior network administrators.
Experience meeting service level goals and targets.

Network Engineer Level 3 (FORECASTED)

Performs network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversions and cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents. The Level 3 Network Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:
Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.

Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations.

Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support and training commensurate with network engineering curriculums. Alternatively, this requirement may be satisfied with:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline and Twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support.
High School diploma and Twenty (20) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support.

The Planning Systems Engineer Lead will develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules throughout the engineering design process for a variety of technical products. This role requires experience within military organizations, preferably in air operations or air traffic control, as well as familiarity with C4ISR technologies and systems.

Develop, manage, and maintain a detailed project schedule that spans the entire engineering design process, from initial planning through to product release.

Job Summary
As a Spacecraft Communications Engineer at Lynk, you will wear many hats in the world of radio frequencies, electronics, hardware, and software. You will be responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, optimization, and enhancement of spacecraft communications systems for our satellites (and, ultimately, the future constellation network). Some work products will include spacecraft radio and ground station product evaluations, link budgets analyses, system dimensioning for coverage and capacity (including traffic analysis and simulation), initial system design and dimensioning, coverage planning, frequency planning, interference analysis, and mitigation techniques. You will also be responsible for supporting the iterative design and test of our spacecraft payload hardware/electronics and software. This will include working with software-defined radios, single-board computers, LNAs, and filters you will also be involved in spacecraft communication systems antenna selection and design. While playing with all this hardware on a bench, youll probably need to pick up a soldering gun, use a spectrum analyzer, and/or configure an RF channel simulator.

Because Lynk is a small company, the Spacecraft Communications Engineer will straddle engineering work in the domains of RF, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.
Continue to evolve Lynks spacecraft communications architecture, including components and systems that provide direct ground links, orbital relays, and inter-satellite links.
Evaluate and select spacecraft radios, antennas, and other RF components for spacecraft communication systems.
Define Concept of Operations for spacecraft communications and related ground systems.
Evaluate ground station options and select configurations that support the spacecraft communications Concept of Operations.

Responsibilities
Design network solutions for TMG's automated trading infrastructure
Implement and maintain a high availability, low latency network infrastructure
Troubleshoot network and network related issues
Collaborate with other team members on new technology solutions
Work with other teams within the firm to address technological issues
Proactively monitor the network and provide capacity planning
Participate in the on-call support rotation and some weekend work
Mentor junior engineers from a technical perspective
Requirements
Seasoned engineer, ideally with a CCIE, experience building and maintaining production financial/trading networks
Experience with multicast and unicast routing protocols (TCP/IP, PIM, BGP, OSPF)
Experience with the design, deployment, and operation of modern IP multicast networks
Working knowledge of low latency networking concepts
Experience with firewall administration and site to site VPN
Some hands-on required for data center work
Deep understanding of the TCP/IP stack
Experience with packet capture and tcpdump analysis tools
Knowledge of high accuracy timing protocols
Experience with network management software and tools
Scripting language experience such as python for network automation, testing, and troubleshooting
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
This position requires physical presence and is onsite (no remote work)

Job Description
Job Title: Network Engineer Primary Location: Hoffman Estates, Hybrid in Chicagoland, or Remote—must be able to work within the Central Time Zone. Contract We seek a highly skilled and motivated Store Network Engineer with hands-on experience in Cradlepoint, Cisco Meraki, VMware VeloCloud, and general networking technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise WAN/LAN networks, with a strong focus on SD-WAN and on-prem/cloud-managed infrastructure.
What You Bring to the Role.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in network engineering, including hands-on experience with:
Cradlepoint NetCloud and LTE/5G edge devices
Cisco Meraki (MX, MR, MS series)
VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN
Strong knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, NAT, VPNs, and QoS.
Experience with enterprise-level firewall and security appliances.
Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across different layers and vendors.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., NetCloud Manager, Meraki Dashboard, VeloCloud Orchestrator, SolarWinds).
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as:
Cradlepoint Certified Network Associate (CPNA/CPNE)
Cisco Meraki CMNA or CCNA/CCNP
VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud certification (VCP-NV)
Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Ansible) is a plus.
Knowledge of cloud networking (Azure, GCP) is a bonus.
What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)
Design, implement, and support network solutions using Cradlepoint, Cisco Meraki, and VMware VeloCloud.
Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Implement and maintain secure network architectures that align with business and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network-related projects, including site deployments, migrations, and upgrades.
Create and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Manage and optimize SD-WAN environments for performance, failover, and cost-efficiency.
Provide Tier 2/3 support and escalation for network incidents and outages.
Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
Compensation Information
The expected rate range for this position is $25 - 30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
