This individual will test new electronic products per written work instructions, diagnose and troubleshoot new electronic printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to the component level utilizing schematics and test lab equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc). They will also assist in the design, development and implementation of new test equipment and procedures for new and existing products and provide input to the product test strategy and will write technical reports. Your Role at a Glance Communicate effectively with the Electrical Supervisor (FQM) and peers. Troubleshoot electronic/electrical equipment and HMI-related issues. Maintain operational status of all electronic/electrical equipment. Program and/or troubleshoot Level 1 and Level 2 of the production line. Perform maintenance tasks on electronic/electrical equipment. Support and lead maintenance improvement activities (CIT, MADE, RCA, CAPEX). Evaluate new and replacement electronic/electrical hardware. Document work history accurately in SAP, including entering and closing work orders. Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing business conditions and technologies. Lead by example and promote safety programs and activities. What Sets You Apart We're looking for individuals who bring the right mix of experience, mindset, and motivation: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, PLC language (Allen Bradley/Siemens), and procedure manuals. Strong knowledge of AC/DC motor theory and VFDs (Allen Bradley/Siemens/ABB). Skilled in AC/DC low-voltage control circuit troubleshooting. Solid mathematical and reasoning skills for problem-solving. Above-average electrical and mechanical comprehension. Associates degree in electronics or substantial progress toward completion preferred. Responsible for building prototypes incorporating electronic controls and PCB assemblies and for setting up and conducting tests on electronic assemblies or components. Other responsibilities include failure analysis, documentation of test results, and conducting basic repairs, troubleshooting and routine maintenance of electrical lab test equipment. The Electronics Technician collaborates with an Electronics Engineer for the development of electronic components for new products and a Test Engineer supporting day-to-day testing and equipment repair activities in the test lab. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Understand and apply safe working practices in the lab, including PPE and ESD equipment Setup test equipment, data acquisition equipment and power supplies Test, Troubleshoot, and Repair electrical/electronic circuits and (test) equipment Fabricate and assemble PCB assemblies, wire harnesses, electrical circuits and prototypes Read and interpret technical/electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams Gather test data, formulate conclusions, and write test reports Analyze failure modes and recommend improvements Specify and purchase electrical components and equipment Support 5S+1 and other waste elimination activities Who You Are: You are proactive and readily act on new challenges. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: 4+ years of relevant test laboratory experience Familiar with laboratory test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, data acquisition equipment (e.g. data loggers) Experience with hand soldering through-hole and SMT components Experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio Knowledge of programming languages like LabVIEW or C/C++ Experience with practical problem solving and root cause analysis Perform basic electrical calculations for equipment and test setup, test validation, troubleshooting, and repair purposes Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or Cellular technology Experience with PCB layout software and SMT equipment: Print, Pick/Place, Reflow oven Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures and regulations.
