Job Summary/Purpose:
Responsible for the processes relating to electronic systems, instrumentation, PLC's, and the repair, maintenance and installation of electronic equipment and systems.
Starting rate - $41.93/hr
2nd shift, M-F 1:30pm - 10:00pm
Essential Responsibilities
Participate/support the KHMS process and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.
Assist in installations of electronic devices throughout the production processes and factory, ensuring conformance to specifications. Problem solving efforts concerning electronic, PLC's, and instrumentation equipment to minimize failures and downtime.
Provide assistance to engineering concerning the design and installation of new systems.
Provides for the proper communication and interface between the factory installations, vendors, and factory IS systems as applicable, utilizing software, servers, modems, etc.
Responsible for Computerized Maintenance Management and activity scheduling for Production Maintenance.
Responsible for developing and recommending improvements to equipment, methods, layout, and procedures pertaining to department operations. Reduce chronic problems and optimize performance of existing systems through analysis and implementation of solutions.
Responsible for keeping costs at a minimum for efficient operation, proper care and economical use of materials. Identify cost reduction improvement opportunities through accurate machine repair history and downtime records.
Ensure that all work complies with OSHA, the National Electrical Code, and that all work is completed in safe manner and displays good quality workmanship.
Training and Safety - Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company's Heinz Safety Process. Support safety processes including, but not limited to, hazard identification and elimination, area inspection, job skills, and compliance and safety training/meetings.
Follows all policies and safety regulations.
As necessary, other duties and/or projects may be assigned.
Education and Experience
Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience..
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Working knowledge of personal computers, PLC's and local IS systems. Particularly Alan Bradley Micro Logic, Slick 500, 5000 Platform as well as Data Highway 485+ and Ethernet.
Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

Responsible for building prototypes incorporating electronic controls and PCB assemblies and for setting up and conducting tests on electronic assemblies or components. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Understand and apply safe working practices in the lab, including PPE and ESD equipment
+ Setup test equipment, data acquisition equipment and power supplies
+ Test, Troubleshoot, and Repair electrical/electronic circuits and (test) equipment
+ Fabricate and assemble PCB assemblies, wire harnesses, electrical circuits and prototypes
+ Read and interpret technical/electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams
+ Gather test data, formulate conclusions, and write test reports
+ Analyze failure modes and recommend improvements
+ Specify and purchase electrical components and equipment
+ Support 5S+1 and other waste elimination activities

+ Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field, or

+ 4+ years of relevant test laboratory experience
+ Familiar with laboratory test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, data acquisition equipment (e.g. data loggers)
+ Experience with hand soldering through-hole and SMT components
+ Experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
+ Knowledge of programming languages like LabVIEW or C/C++ Experience with practical problem solving and root cause analysis

Requirements:
Associate's degree (or higher) in electronic engineering or related field; an Electronics Engineering Technology Degree is preferred
0-3 years electronic testing and troubleshooting experience
Experienced with the use of test and measurement instrumentation including oscilloscopes, DMMs, thermocouple calibrators, etc.
Strong working knowledge of electronics, digital logic and analog circuits and be able to apply this knowledge in testing, troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies and boards to the component level
Reading and interpreting schematics and diagrams to help in troubleshooting and repair of electronic devices to component level
Microsoft Office computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must be able to work productively, safely, and independently without supervision
Understanding and knowledge of IPC principals and standards (IPC-610, J-STD-001)
Excellent time management skills
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the company including production, engineering and management personnel
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsible for the coordination of the NDT equipment. Interpret schematics to troubleshoot problems and performs database maintenance administration

Practice awareness concerning issues of health, safety, and the environment; cooperate with emergency teams to anticipate and deal with any hazardous and/or unusual situations (oil spills and line leaks, inclement weather, etc)

I&E Technician Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, technical school a plus
+5 years of comprehensive I&E experience
