This will include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, maintaining the care of company assets, and communicating professionally with others. They will perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible. Ability to lift and move heavy loads, stand most of the day, climb, bend and stoop while working on equipment. Acceptance of exposure to the outside elements. Shift adaptability, which would include an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends. Exceptional customer service skills are needed. Ability to organize and inventory truck stock parts and tools. Sense of urgency, organizational skills, professional presence and work in team environment. Ability to pass MVR, background and drug test where required. Preferred Qualifications Firstline Service Technician work experience preferred. Vocational/Trade School preferred #LI-DC1 #LI-Remote Gains familiarity with Field Service Technician practices and procedures. With guidance and / or in conjunction with more experienced technicians performs any or all of the following: Incident Handling: Utilizes diagnostic tools to perform troubleshooting via detailed analysis of hardware and software failures. Performs hardware repairs on a component level. Cleans and adjusts mechanical components. Configures and installs applicable software. Preventive Maintenance: Performs routine checks according to documented procedures. Refills consumables as directed. IMAC/R: Installs, moves, adds, changes and removes hardware and software products. Customer Training: Instructs and trains customers on usage and operation of installed hardware and software. Participates in regular hardware and software trainings (on the job, classroom and web based). Participates in the implementation of measures to achieve agreed KPIs. Assists with special projects as assigned.

We employ more than 800 employees in more than 100 locations across 26 states and operate the largest railcar services network in the industry, encompassing 11 large railcar repair facilities and more than 75 field services locations in addition to a rail services division that operates three short line railroads and a dozen contract switching and transloading sites. Incumbents will use mechanical skills to safely inspect and repair railcars to customer and industry specifications. A limited number of entry level trainee positions are available, but we seek candidates with rail industry or other industrial experience, including welding or mechanical assembly. The environment requires working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, in high and low precarious places, as well as in confined spaces. The work type is best described as heavy, hands-on mechanical work. Work is very physical, and without proper work planning can result in out of position pushing, pulling and lifting.
