Job Summary: The R&O Electronics Tech II is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying repair and overhaul (R&O) electronic components, electro-mechanical assemblies, parts, equipment, and systems by applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics. Essential Functions: - Read component maintenance manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and engineering instructions for assembling and testing electronic or mechanical units, applying knowledge of electronic or mechanical theory and components - Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment. Test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics, using hand and power tools. Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron. Technician Electromechanical (Aviation) Status: Non-Exempt Department: Electromechanical Shop (1131) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:55AM-2:30PM (40 hours/week), subject to overtime This position is primarily responsible for the repair/overhaul of pneumatic/electrical operated aircraft components. The position cross-trains in other departments. The position requires the ability to read/write/understand the English language, following directions, and work in various teamwork settings. Performs the installation of radio and wireless mobile and base communications systems per industry practices and vendor criteria. Reports any accidents, maintenance needs, or repairs to management while using any company vehicle. Practices and follows safe driving procedures as described and required in safe driver training. Must be available to work Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To properly support our public safety and first responder customers, technicians will be required to be on call, which includes overtime with little or no notice. Must be able to travel, this may be local, daily travel or overnight travel. Education and/or Experience: Three to five years' experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems theory. Able to use computer and program, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and repair complex communication systems. Experienced with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, and trunked radio systems. Knowledge of radio repair, mobile installations, DC, AC, and RF Theory as it applies to wireless communications.
