The Mechanical Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical damage of vehicles while ensuring safety and quality to ensure timely delivery of repaired vehicles. Additional responsibilities include performing light-heavy maintenance and service work.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyze and evaluate damaged vehicles to determine repair or service needs and replacement of parts.
* Accurately estimate costs for repairs, maintenance and service required.
* Perform advanced, basic and minor repairs as required - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, engine and transmission, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, restraints and airbags, air conditioning and computer systems.
* Perform service and repairs following manufacturers' manuals.
* Document all repair/service information in CARSTAR's management system.
* Inspects and tests all mechanical repairs to meet manufacturers' specifications. Road tests vehicles when required.
* Communicate with production team to keep all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery.
* Ensure work area is kept clean, maintain all tools/equipment, follow safety/OSHA guidelines and handle and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
* Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive repair technology.
* Attend daily release meetings.
* Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS
* 2-5 years of automobile automotive mechanical/electrical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience in related industry required.
* High School diploma/GED required, auto mechanic tech graduate preferred.
* ASE certification or equivalent required. I-CAR training preferred.
* Experience diagnosing problems - mechanical, repairing, rebuilding and overhauling mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or hydraulic systems in a wide variety of automotive vehicle, including hybrid vehicles.
* Knowledge using manufacturers' service and repair manuals.
* Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple concurrent assignments.
* Ability to receive direction and work well with others.
* Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

PCT Ebeam and Integration in Davenport, IA is seeking 2 Field Service Technicians to provide support for testing, troubleshooting, repair and rebuild of electron beams. This position applies knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes such as high voltage, high vacuum, PLC controls, printed circuit board operation, hydraulic and pneumatic assembly. Travels on short notice for repair, calibration and installation of customer equipment in both domestic and international locations. Some of the duties are:
Troubleshoots ebeam electron beam processors by identifying the malfunction's root cause and determining the feasibility and scope of repair based on time and budget constraints.
Troubleshoots both electrical and mechanical systems and components.
Repairs or replaces defective parts, reassemble, calibrate, adjust and certify serviceability of overhauled or modified equipment.
Tests and calibrates ebeam printed circuit boards using test equipment and written procedures and guidelines.
Reads and understands both electrical and mechanical drawings.
Responsible for familiarity and expertise on the design, assembly and operation of all ebeam product lines.
When necessary assists in assembling, testing and installing ebeam components such as feed thru, cathode, copper window and high vacuum system and control system components.

Job Purpose
Design and plan work orders for the construction, maintenance, and modification of the Utility's electric transmission and distribution system. Ensure work orders are completed timely and accurately. Provide engineering support for on-going water, technical services, and telecommunications projects as needed (level II position only). Specific Responsibilities
Design, plan, and assist in scheduling Transmission & Distribution activities, serving as project leader as assigned. This includes:
Prepare work orders to construct, maintain, and modify the electric transmission and distribution system. Review work orders for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to Utility standards. Field-check work to ensure all completed work is accurately reflected on Utility maps and records, including the data input in the computerized maintenance management system
Make field visits prior to project design and to inspect work in progress.
Stake pole and/or trench locations for line routing in accordance with applicable codes and Utility requirements.

Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Physical Demands
Frequent physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs., walking, standing, bending, reaching, dexterity and light grasping. Occasional physical demands include lifting over 50 lbs., climbing stairs, squatting, and firmly grasping. The associate is required to talk and hear. Must be able to work required shifts including nights and weekends, and maintain attendance standards. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision adequate for the incumbent to perform the responsibilities and functions of the job efficiently. The associate must have the manual dexterity to manually operate and use a computer/cash register and/or RF.

Work Environment and Working Conditions
Work will normally be performed inside of the store facility; however, some work may occasionally be performed outside in conditions ranging from cold below 32 degrees to heat above 100 degrees. The work environment is usually fast paced with regular deadlines and sales expectations. Extreme noise and vibrations may occasionally be experienced. Associates may be subjected to hazards such as burns, cuts, electrical, explosive, and mechanical. Due to the nature of the work, associates may be exposed atmospheric conditions such as dust fumes, odors, and poor ventilation. For the safety of our associates, all associates may be required to wear protective devices from time to time, depending on the job/task being performed.
