In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Understand and apply safe working practices in the lab, including PPE and ESD equipment Setup test equipment, data acquisition equipment and power supplies Test, Troubleshoot, and Repair electrical/electronic circuits and (test) equipment Fabricate and assemble PCB assemblies, wire harnesses, electrical circuits and prototypes Read and interpret technical/electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams Gather test data, formulate conclusions, and write test reports Analyze failure modes and recommend improvements Specify and purchase electrical components and equipment Support 5S+1 and other waste elimination activities Who You Are: You are proactive and readily act on new challenges. For This Role, You Will Need: Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field, or High school and 3+ years of relevant electrical/electronic work experience, preferably in a (but not limited to) laboratory, diagnostics, troubleshooting, or repair environment/function. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: 4+ years of relevant test laboratory experience Familiar with laboratory test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, data acquisition equipment (e.g. data loggers) Experience with hand soldering through-hole and SMT components Experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio Knowledge of programming languages like LabVIEW or C/C++ Experience with practical problem solving and root cause analysis Perform basic electrical calculations for equipment and test setup, test validation, troubleshooting, and repair purposes Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or Cellular technology Experience with PCB layout software and SMT equipment: Print, Pick/Place, Reflow oven Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures and regulations. * Responsible for product design support for standard or custom power units * Will work under the direction of Electrical and\or Mechanical Engineers performing prototyping, troubleshooting or validation activities * Assists design engineers to prototype new product designs whether completely new designs or subassemblies * May assist in regulatory agency testing or preparation such as UL, CSA, TUV * May prototype concepts using available materials * Assists in debugging production problems * Creates manufacturing instructions Skills & Qualifications * 5+ years of experience with power or electromechanical products * Testing/troubleshooting experience * Previous electrical wiring experience * Ability to read blue prints/schematics Preferred * Two-year degree * Experience with low and medium voltage power systems * Proficiency in MS-Office desktop solutions is quired including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley View, OH.
