About the Role
As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance Team repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety: Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Maintenance: Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
Monitoring: Create, assign, and close out work order with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used. Track and store department inventory.
Support: Mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.
Communication: Maintain positive working relationships across all of the Operations facility.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
1+ years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, with the ability to create and manage documents effectively.
Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical field.
Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
Physical Demands:
Must have ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, use an aerial lift, and frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
Ability to perform tasks wearing appropriate or required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
Regularly required to crouch or bend and reach to install/move equipment.
Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work, averaging 6 to 12 miles per day.
Work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.

POSITION PURPOSE
* This position is for 1st Shift (Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm)* We are seeking a Senior Electromechanical Technician to support our manufacturing operations by reducing equipment downtime and ensuring reliable performance of automated and electrical control systems. This role focuses on electrical troubleshooting and automation support across PLCs, servo drives, robotics, sensors, and control systems. Some mechanical skills are also required but secondary. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in industrial electrical systems and automation, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex control issues while collaborating with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
* Troubleshooting & Repair
* Rapidly diagnose and repair downtime issues across PLCs, servo drives, robotics, sensors, motor controls, and control valves.
* Calibrate, test, and replace sensors, encoders, and electrical feedback devices.
* Resolve integration and safety interlock issues within robotic cells, conveyors, and automated lines.
* Support limited mechanical troubleshooting only as needed to enable electrical/automation functionality.
* Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
* Execute preventive maintenance (PMs) focused on electrical and control systems for production equipment.
* Support predictive maintenance initiatives (e.g., electrical testing, thermal imaging, insulation resistance checks).
* Document electrical and automation repairs in the CMMS.
* Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
* Partner with engineers and operations on root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring electrical or control failures.
* Recommend and implement upgrades to controls, automation systems, and electrical hardware/software.

* Follow and enforce OSHA/EHS standards during all maintenance activities.

As an Engineering Technician (Mechanical), you will:
* Instruct Midshipmen and provide support for faculty led courses in various Marine Engineering Laboratories.
* Be responsible for the implementation of proper operational processes and safety procedures in the laboratories.
* Demonstrate knowledge of welding technology and welding instruction, welding methods in a classroom/laboratory environment.
* Be responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and upgrading of various mechanical instructional equipment in all of the Marine Engineering laboratories.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, experienced professional mechanical technician who has experience providing instruction and maintaining equipment in an academic laboratory environment. The candidate will have experience in welding and machine shop operations, and have experience operating, installing and repairing complex instructional equipment. The candidate will have experience in various marine engineering environments, including diesel, steam, refrigeration, and others.

Perform the installation, routing, and termination of electrical wiring systems according to design specifications and industry standards
Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to cut, strip, crimp, and connect wires and cables
Conduct quality control inspections at various stages of the production process to ensure product integrity and adherence to standards
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and electrical systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Work with computers and software to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot automated test equipment and diagnostic systems
Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery in optimal condition
Collaborate with engineers, other team members and supervisors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to product assembly and wiring configurations
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical certification or vocational training preferred
3+ years of manufacturing experience, medical device, electro-mechanical, or optical experience
Ability to read, interpret and follow industry standards and internal work instructions, specifications, and engineering drawings
Experience with computer systems and software applications used to control, run, and diagnose engineering test equipment.
Familiarity with operating machinery and tools used in production processes
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
Strong knowledge of electrical wiring principles, techniques, and safety standards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Excellent problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Flexibility to work in fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards, a plus
