Our Robot Technicians will execute robot fleet repair throughout the shift, troubleshoot unexpected situations that may arise, and work effectively to keep our robots in operation.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Tasks:
Maintaining the health of our global fleet of robots through daily maintenance and repair tasks. Which can include but is not limited to - diagnosing unforeseen problems, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and repairing or replacing faulty equipment (tires, electronics, motors).
Carrying out preventive maintenance activities and upgrades on robots and infrastructure. Monitoring and servicing our internal systems, running tests and completing reports, and completing updates or improvements to existing systems as appropriate.
Perform root cause analysis to identify the causes of faults or problems and systematically develop a solution to prevent/solve underlying issues.
Operational Tasks:
Accurately document all tasks/partner or internal messaging related to service concerns or robot-related issues using appropriate applications/tools.
Maintain a clean and organized hub by performing accurate spare parts inventory audits twice a week and ensuring all tools are accounted for and returned to their proper location after use.
Work with our engineering team to identify any potential improvements regarding robot health and design.
Assist our Operational Team and vendors/merchants by providing in-person assistance through performing weekly Merchant Preflights to understand any service-related issues, provide operational and troubleshooting assistance related to Starship-provided devices, and act as a Starship brand representative while interacting with clients.
Occasionally support our Operational Service team by assisting with Robot field rescues or operational services tasks when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A passion for robots and innovative technologies.
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or another related STEM field.
Previous experience in Technical Support and with any service desk application is beneficial, but not required.
Good knowledge regarding mechanics, electronics, and IT.
Excellent client-facing skills.
Self-starter; takes initiative, can work without supervision and begin projects independently.
Ability to travel up to 20% for this opportunity; which can include the use of a company vehicle to transport robots. (Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicles Report).
Experience & Education Requirements:
Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, CLI tools, and scripting preferred, but not required.
Hobby projects in electronics or mechanics.
Previous experience in managing a large fleet of devices.
Physical Requirements:
Movement ability to frequent usage of wrists, hands and finger dexterity to movements such as constant typing, as well full-body exertion while wrangling the robot fleet.
Occasional lifting of items with weight up to 70 lbs.
Comfortable riding an ebike on various terrain.

Minimum 2 year degree in Instrumentation and Controls or equivalent work experience as a Controls Technician.
3 - 5 years previous experience required.

Responsibility & Essential Functions:
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial controls and automation equipment and associated components like sensors, actuators, and HMIs
Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, electronic, and automation system faults, including PLC hardware, software and communications networks.
Conducting routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on PLCs and related equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Modifying and optimizing PLC programs and controls strategies to improve process efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of PLC programs, systems configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance activities.
Ability to take ownership of projects; responsive and flexible to all project requests and reacts to any adjustments promptly and efficiently, effectively prioritizing needs and tasks.

As a Service Technician you will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs of equipment in a safe and professional manner while delivering top-notch customer service and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
Maintain safe, clean and organized shop environment.
Ensure repair and routine maintenance schedules are completed accurately and efficiently.
Ensure all safety protocols are met and followed.
Other duties assigned as needed.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate
Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse conditions that are not always climate controlled and may include, heat and humidity.
Noise level may be loud at times.
Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.

Our Robot Technicians will execute robot fleet repair throughout the shift, troubleshoot unexpected situations that may arise, and work effectively to keep our robots in operation.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Tasks:
* Maintaining the health of our global fleet of robots through daily maintenance and repair tasks. Which can include but is not limited to - diagnosing unforeseen problems, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and repairing or replacing faulty equipment (tires, electronics, motors).
* Carrying out preventive maintenance activities and upgrades on robots and infrastructure. Monitoring and servicing our internal systems, running tests and completing reports, and completing updates or improvements to existing systems as appropriate.
* Perform root cause analysis to identify the causes of faults or problems and systematically develop a solution to prevent/solve underlying issues.
Operational Tasks:
* Accurately document all tasks/partner or internal messaging related to service concerns or robot-related issues using appropriate applications/tools.
* Maintain a clean and organized hub by performing accurate spare parts inventory audits twice a week and ensuring all tools are accounted for and returned to their proper location after use.
* Work with our engineering team to identify any potential improvements regarding robot health and design.
* Assist our Operational Team and vendors/merchants by providing in-person assistance through performing weekly Merchant Preflights to understand any service-related issues, provide operational and troubleshooting assistance related to Starship-provided devices, and act as a Starship brand representative while interacting with clients.
* Occasionally support our Operational Service team by assisting with Robot field rescues or operational services tasks when needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
* A passion for robots and innovative technologies.
* Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or another related STEM field.
* Previous experience in Technical Support and with any service desk application is beneficial, but not required.
* Good knowledge regarding mechanics, electronics, and IT.
* Excellent client-facing skills.
* Self-starter; takes initiative, can work without supervision and begin projects independently.
* Ability to travel up to 20% for this opportunity; which can include the use of a company vehicle to transport robots. (Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicles Report).
Experience & Education Requirements:
* Knowledge of Unix/Linux systems, CLI tools, and scripting preferred, but not required.
* Hobby projects in electronics or mechanics.
* Previous experience in managing a large fleet of devices.
Physical Requirements:
* Movement ability to frequent usage of wrists, hands and finger dexterity to movements such as constant typing, as well full-body exertion while wrangling the robot fleet.
* Occasional lifting of items with weight up to 70 lbs.
* Comfortable riding an ebike on various terrain.

What will you do in this role?
Provide maintenance and mechanical support to production teams by troubleshooting equipment, understanding the instrumentation and perform repairs as needed and assemble, install, dismantle, and repair machinery, pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, plan, and perform all required operations in preparation for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment within the facility and make proper connections to panels, electronic units, etc.
Perform general repairs to all types of machines or equipment, tear down units, determine extent of troubles, repair or replace defective parts and reassemble.
Replace parts such as bearing, gears, shafts, worn or broken units or equipment elements and install wire motors and drives for a variety of standard and special purpose machines and equipment. Must demonstrate the use of a multi-meter and have AC/DC drive experience.
Move machines and equipment to the designated area using forklifts, hoists, and other equipment.
Install all types of conduit, making bends, threading, and reaming where necessary.
Perform ordinary machining operations using lathe, milling machine, grinder, drill press, etc.
Perform general maintenance work in all buildings on Flexcon's campus
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements with industry best practices.
Experience and commitment to fulfilling the preventative maintenance program including inspecting, cleaning, lubrication and adjustments to equipment and machines.
Skilled in reading and working from blueprints, drawings, and schematics to complete tasks.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
S. Diploma or GED
Knowledge of Allen Bradley equipment and software preferred.
Use a laptop to connect to PLC's and drives to troubleshoot and make repairs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Willing to get your hands dirty
Some travel may be required
