Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair and complete preventative maintenance on Ground Service Equipment (both motorized and non-motorized)
Work will include diagnostic testing and repair of gas engines, transmissions, suspension and brake systems
Troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines, heavy industrial equipment, including large aircraft air conditioners, air start and ground electrical power units
Ground Service Equipment Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)
Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority
Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United contract
New employees are required to join the union within ninety (90) days of employment
There is an initiation fee for joining the union and subsequent monthly union dues which are set by the Local Lodge
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
24 months of experience with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of gas and diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and motorized equipment
Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
Must possess a valid state issued driver's license
Ability to work any shift assigned (nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed) within 24/7 operation
Ability to climb and work from ladders, and/or walk for extended periods
Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
Ability to work in an environment with exposure to high noise levels
Moderate lifting
Computer experience for input and retrieval of data

Compensation information

Production responsibilities include:
Configure the Range for RF operation.
Utilize overhead cranes to move heavy / large tooling and equipment.
Install and assemble defined Range test tooling.
Set-up and calibrate the Range for test execution per documented procedure, specification or standard.
Install and connect antennas to be tested.
Execute RF tests per documented procedure.
Process and plot required Range data files as defined.
Sign-off on test operations certifying that tests have been conducted as specified in the product acceptance test procedure.
Utilize paper or electronic formats to maintain required process logs, records and reports in accordance with BAE Systems policies and government regulation.
Use internal electronic scheduling system to tear-down and set-up for the next scheduled test.

Execute equipment and system maintenance activities.

Engineering Technician I Job Responsibilities:
Assemble, test, and diagnose scroll compressors, vacuum pumps, and expanders with direct oral or written instructions, using engineering drawings as provided by the project engineer
Assist Design Engineers with tasks such as developing and documenting assembly procedures
Provide guidance to production assemblers on assembly and test procedures
Wire compressors and vacuum pumps to controllers under supervision, using motor and controller drawings
Assist engineers in designing, building, and maintaining test stands based on project specifications
Assemble and install mechanical components, fixtures, and instrumentation on test stands
Perform electrical wiring and ensure proper connections for test equipment and data acquisition systems
Conduct pressure checks on equipment, compressors, and pumps as directed
Perform maintenance of test stands and assembly cells
Provide support during the transition of prototype compressors into production
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems with test stands
Calibrate test equipment according to established procedures
