The Electro-Optical Technician II (RF Characterization & Test Technician) is responsible for executing RF coaxial connector qualification testing, supporting R&D prototype characterization, and assisting Quality and Technology teams with root cause analysis of customer-facing issues. Key Responsibilities
I. RF Coaxial Connector Qualification Testing
Execute RF coaxial connector qualification testing in accordance with customer and MIL specifications
Interface with Design Engineering, Product Line Specialists, and Applications Engineering to understand electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements
Develop and execute detailed test plans compliant with customer requirements
Perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental qualification tests to validate production readiness
Collect, organize, and maintain test data in a structured and retrievable manner
Generate formal qualification test reports suitable for customer presentation
II. R&D Prototype Testing & Product Characterization
Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams in new product development
Prepare test plans, procedures, and methods for prototype evaluation
Prepare samples, conduct testing, and compile characterization data
Support Design Engineering in defining Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) attributes and quality plans
Perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing to verify new designs
Support competitive analysis activities and document relevant findings
Complete assigned work aligned with Technology team objectives and project priorities
III. Quality Support & Root Cause Analysis
Support corrective action teams addressing customer field issues and internal quality events
Troubleshoot new and existing products to resolve manufacturing and application issues
Conduct verification testing to validate customer findings and support Quality Incident Team (QIT) responses
Collaborate cross-functionally to address Stage 4 product or process control issues
Support outsourcing and transfer activities as part of cross-functional project teams
Assist in the development and support of industry standards (e.g., SCTE, IEC, DSCC, IEEE)
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent military training
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an RF Test Technician
Required Technical Skills
Strong understanding of RF coaxial transmission and passive component test methods
Knowledge of connector impedance, factors affecting impedance, and time-gating techniques using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
Hands-on experience with RF signal sources, power sources, spectrum analyzers, RF power amplifiers, and oscilloscopes
Knowledge of electrical fundamentals including current, voltage, resistance, and 4-wire resistance measurement techniques
Experience building electrical test beds for connector and connector assembly characterization
Proficiency in calibration, de-embedding, and time-domain analysis across a 40 MHz to 100 GHz frequency range
Ability to create and execute mechanical, electrical, and environmental test plans
Experience using environmental and mechanical test equipment (e.g., tensile testers, temperature/humidity chambers)
Ability to read, understand, and comply with customer Source Control Drawings (SCDs)
Understanding of metrology principles
Mechanical aptitude with tools, fixtures, gauges, and test equipment

Specific activities that will be performed by the engineer are related to the day-to-day operation of the plant and include but is not limited to the following: Operation of the plant using the control system and physical equipment in the field such as motors, compressors, pumps, instrumentation, and various utilities (electrical, water, steam, and instrument gas).
Assessing the efficiency and operating capability of plant equipment specifically as it relates to energy consumption.
Making changes to operating modes or to equipment to optimize efficiency.
Troubleshooting plant process and equipment problems and implementing solutions.
Utilizing control systems and high-level advanced controls technology to optimize plant performance.
Training operators in the areas of safety and plant operations.
Providing some supervision of plant personnel or drivers as assigned by facility management.
Monitoring compliance with internal Quality Assurance program requirements and initiating actions to correct non-conformance as appropriate.
Executing various aspects of the Linde Safety Program including training, documentation, inspections, and correction of deficiencies.
Monitoring plant and distribution costs for alignment with budgets and targets for improvement.
Assisting plant operations and distribution personnel with day-to-day work activities as required such as operating the plant, taking readings, doing inspections, starting, and stopping equipment, filling product vehicles, and performing Quality Assurance tests.
Executing projects in the plant in accordance with budgets, standards, and facility operating schedules Participating in technical sales and business development activities.

Reads PLC ladder logic and function block logic to troubleshoot and repair
Interpret and apply electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control documentation.
Inspect, test, and evaluate electrical systems, drives, motors, PLC components, and control panels.
Disassemble and reassemble machines and electrical systems to replace defective or worn components.
Install, modify, and commission new and existing electrical equipment using proper tools, materials, and methods.
Perform calibrations, alignments, and adjustments to ensure accurate and safe equipment operation.
Support pneumatic and hydraulic systems as needed for machine functionality.
Provide technical support and training to production staff on basic equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Assist with preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability initiatives.
Identify and recommend improvements to equipment, control systems, and plant infrastructure.
Maintain maintenance logs, technical notes, and work order documentation.
Support spare parts, tools, and maintenance inventory management.
Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and OSHA requirements.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions as needed.
Perform soldering and basic electronic repairs when required.
Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Duties:

Operate metalworking machines such as bench lathes, milling machines, punch presses, and drive presses to fabricate housings, fittings, jogs and fixtures
Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Critical Engineering Technician will be a part of the Operations team reporting to the Critical Facilities Manager and will perform maintenance on critical facility equipment. The Critical Engineering Technician plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our hyperscale, multi-building data center campus. This hands-on position is responsible for ensuring the uptime, reliability, and performance of critical facility systems. The Critical Engineering Technician works across multiple areas, including critical equipment support spaces, that demand precision and strict adherence to operational protocols. 12-HOUR NIGHT SHIFT (7PM-7AM)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all standard and non-standard activities in accordance with Stream Data Centers' operating procedures or maintenance work instructions.
Perform rounds inspecting mechanical, electrical, and fire/life safety systems (MEP/FLS) throughout the building and equipment yards.
Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) dashboards for alarms and anomalies.
Perform BMS operations and effectively analyze data to ensure proper functions of all critical systems.
Execute preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on critical infrastructure including UPS, FCUs, CRAH/CRACs, chillers, generators, and electrical switchgear.
Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, network, and project teams to coordinate site-wide activities.
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for all equipment related activity support site management to resolve site issues based on priorities.
Participate in technical training and certification programs to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment and best practices.
Participate in team meetings, shift handovers, and post-mortem reviews to share knowledge and support cross-functional collaboration.
Escort vendors and contractors during maintenance or installation activities, ensuring badge compliance and activity logging.
Comply with Stream Data Centers departmental policies, including all EHS policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years' experience in an industry that includes operations & maintenance
Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedures (MOPs), and their application to work orders
Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire and life safety systems
Proficient with computer systems including documents, spreadsheets, and email
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years' experience in a critical operations environment, preferably in the data center industry
Experience scheduling and planning maintenance for large-scale, complex systems in an operations environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/CONSIDERATIONS
Perform physical tasks, including moving heavy equipment ( up to 50 pounds), operating critical infrastructure, crawling in tight spaces.
Work in a noisy environment with ear protection and eye protection; potential to work at heights and from ladders
Perform extended site rounds that could include long distances of walking and long periods of time being away from a desk. Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.
The pay range for this role is between $35/hour - $45/hour. Responsibilities:
Implement improvements that reduce foreign particles using a structured problem-solving approach, such as lean Six Sigma, including:
Utilize analytical tools such as SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), XRF (X-ray Fluorescence) and EDX (Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy) for material identification and contamination characterization.
Analyze foreign particles collected from manufacturing processes to identify sources and contamination risks.
Standardizing improvements and communicating them with others (written and verbally)
Update and maintain Control Plans and PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) in collaboration with process and quality teams. (e.g. Production, Quality, etc.) and resolve internal and external quality issues
Conduct internal and customer audits, including preparation and follow-up on action items.
Apply VDA 19.1 standards, including particle trap measurements, to ensure cleanliness in electrode production.
Monitor and control temperature, humidity, and suspended particles in cleanroom and manufacturing areas to maintain optimal production environments.
