CNC Technician - 2nd Shift (38919)
Electronics technician job in Missoula, MT
CNC machine operators perform a variety of tasks in their work with one or more multiple-spindle, automatic lathe-type screw machines. These machines are used to produce custom parts from stock metal or other materials. CNC machine operators ensure the machine is properly set up to perform the various operations needed to produce these parts. Operators read blueprints and determine exactly what screw machine settings are needed to create an actual working part from the plans. The operator chooses cutting speeds, the depth of cuts, how fast the machine should run and which cutting tools should be used for each operation. Operators base their decisions on experience, knowledge about the materials being used and basic mathematical principles. Operate and Maintain equipment.

* Knowledge of G-code programming.

Looking for a trade that will train you? This is a full time benefits eligible position that includes a company vehicle, gas card for vehicle, inventory, and training. POSITION OVERVIEW
A Solar Installation Technician is responsible for the successful and timely installation of assigned projects under the direction of the Crew Leader. RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan Installation:
Although most installation planning tasks fall on the Crew Leader, there will be times when the Installer will have autonomy in the decision making of specific job site tasks.
Use per-job materials checklist to pack the vehicle before leaving for the job. Make sure vehicles are clean, organized, fueled up, and stocked with necessary materials.
Installation:
Track all labor hours per job. Classify for prep work, travel, installation, and electrical work.
Upon arrival at job-site, listen and help plan the approach to the day's work based on instruction from Crew Leaders and Project Managers.
Ensure that all safety and quality standards are met.
Basic understanding of construction and electrical toolsets and techniques is required. On the job training for both is available, depending on job candidate. Tools are provided by OnSite.
Work environment will be in wide range of temperatures and employee is required to be dressed and prepared for current conditions. Some uniform stipends are available to employees for clothing purchase.
Work location is often well off the ground. Comfort in accessing work location via ladder and scaffold is a must, as is use of fall protection and other job-specific PPE.
Assist in completion of the installation checklist, string map, and photography of job site prior to array completion.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Time Frame:
5x8hr work weeks between Jan. 1st and Apr. 30th.
4x10hr work weeks and possible overtime from May 1st through Dec. 31st.
On-call basis and as-needed work available year-round with occasional 40+ hour per week overtime.
Location:
The majority of work is in Bozeman and Gallatin Valley.
Travel throughout the state with overnight stays away from the Valley may take place. In these cases, hardship pay and per diem pay are provided.

JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS
This role is a key operations support role that is required to work with all departments within the Sappington Operation. This role works effectively to maintain and troubleshoot up to 480 VAC electrical motor control systems, field instrumentation, programmable controllers, lighting, and other support systems. This role will work as needed with Controls Engineering group as well as outside contractors in maintenance, design, documentation, and construction of all electrical and control related systems within the Sappington Operation.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Fully supports location health, safety, environmental and quality programs (HSEQ) by participating in their implementation, maintenance, and enforcement as well as compliance with corporate programs and policies.
• Ensure that maintenance is planned, scheduled, documented, and performed in the most cost-effective manner.
• Responsible for troubleshooting electrical and control issues using Volt/Ohm meters, amp meters, meggers.
• Provides hands on assistance to plant personnel with trouble shooting process issues in any of the plant's production systems.
• Performs general instrument/electrical documentation using AutoCAD under the direction of Controls Engineer.
• Performs general instrument/electrical maintenance under the direction of the maintenance manager, including electronic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation and accurately calibrating meters and transmitters.
• Solid understanding of Allen Bradley VFD's and Soft Starts from installation and start-up to maintenance and troubleshooting
• Uses Rockwell Software PLC programming software to help troubleshoot issues and performs minor program changes working closely with Controls Engineering group.
• Implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, Device Net and Control Net
• Assists Process engineer in acquiring process data for analysis via Factory Talk Historian,
• Collaborates with engineering, production, sourcing, and maintenance personnel in the improvement and/or optimization of plant instrumentation and processes.
• Proposes instrumentation maintenance schedules and tasks to maintain efficacy and reliability.
• Assists Maintenance department with motor or other component replacement as needed.
• Keeps Plant electrical inspection ready for MSHA inspections and responds quickly to abate any infraction.
• Utilizes a Computerized Managed Maintenance System (CMMS) to record part usage, description of work performed, hours, etc.
• Requisitions necessary parts and supplies within appropriate authority level or informs supervisor if items are above authority level.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge needed to competently perform the duties of this position, including the successful completion of any necessary training (PLC software/hardware updates and vendor sponsored classes)
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED (Associates Degree or higher level degree in electrical engineering, industrial electronics or other electrical-related technical discipline preferred).
• Three to five years related-experience in industrial manufacturing, mining or milling environment preferred.
Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:
• Significant demonstrable knowledge and experience in the area of plant instrumentation, electrical systems and maintenance.
