Description of Work
This posting is for Engineering Technician III positions located in the Aberdeen District Office. Multiple positions will be filled from this posting. You only need to apply once to be considered for all positions. The Engineering Technician III is responsible for the in-depth review and processing of, but not limited to, utility and non-utility encroachment agreements, driveway permits, preliminary site plans, subdivision plans, and road additions/abandonments for the counties of Hoke, Lee, Moore, Richmond and Scotland. This position will schedule and conduct on-site inspections for compliance with NCDOT specifications and standards, conduct pre-construction meetings, and meet with utility representatives, contractors, property owners, and others to discuss adherence to NCDOT policies and procedures. Employee hired into this position must have the ability to read and interpret construction plans, provisions, specifications and perform inspection procedures. This position will answer questions and address complaints from the general public by telephone, written correspondence, or in person. This position will assign and schedule daily inspection duties for lower-level technicians. This position may use surveying equipment to assist in review and inspection and will be subject to work during emergencies and inclement weather. Employee will assist the District Engineer with other tasks as assigned. Employee should be experienced using computers and electronic tablets/iPads and able to adapt to changes in technology. Employee must possess the ability to work independently to make engineering decisions. Employee must possess good communications skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, contractor's personnel, and the general public.

Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC11 $43,738 - $76,542
Management prefers applicants with the following:
Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems
Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision
Customer service experience related to resolving problems that involve explaining complicated engineering concepts to various customer groups
Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans
Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments
Additional Expectations:
Selected applicant will be expected to legally operate a motor vehicle. Safety toe footwear required.
Minimum Education and Experience

Position Summary
The Engineering Technician at our Concord, NC facility plays a key role in supporting Parenteral Operations, our customer, by ensuring the efficient setup and operation of Pre-Filled Syringe and Isolator Equipment. This position requires hands-on engineering maintenance expertise to assist with equipment setup, operational support, troubleshooting, repairs, and ongoing maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Promote a safety-first, quality-always culture in all tasks and interactions
Improve equipment uptime, line efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
Perform condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and provide operational support
Diagnose and repair precision filling equipment with strong mechanical aptitude
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve equipment issues promptly
Assist with equipment setup and changeovers to support production needs
Adhere to all GMP and quality standards
Must have the ability to quickly and accurately diagnose the root cause of a problem and properly implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
Accurately document maintenance activities and corrective actions
Support cross-functional tasks and assist outside primary responsibilities as needed
Work independently and manage priorities under pressure
Basic Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 5 years' experience in production maintenance
Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with safety protocols and proper PPE usage
Physically able to stand for extended periods
Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
