Job Responsibilities:
Technical Tasks:
Maintaining the health of our global fleet of robots through daily maintenance and repair tasks. Which can include but is not limited to - diagnosing unforeseen problems, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and repairing or replacing faulty equipment (tires, electronics, motors).
Carrying out preventive maintenance activities and upgrades on robots and infrastructure. Monitoring and servicing our internal systems, running tests and completing reports, and completing updates or improvements to existing systems as appropriate.
Perform root cause analysis to identify the causes of faults or problems and systematically develop a solution to prevent/solve underlying issues.
Operational Tasks:
Accurately document all tasks/partner or internal messaging related to service concerns or robot-related issues using appropriate applications/tools.
Maintain a clean and organized hub by performing accurate spare parts inventory audits twice a week and ensuring all tools are accounted for and returned to their proper location after use.
Work with our engineering team to identify any potential improvements regarding robot health and design.
Assist our Operational Team and vendors/merchants by providing in-person assistance through performing weekly Merchant Preflights to understand any service-related issues, provide operational and troubleshooting assistance related to Starship-provided devices, and act as a Starship brand representative while interacting with clients.
Occasionally support our Operational Service team by assisting with Robot field rescues or operational services tasks when needed.

**How You'll Make an Impact**
+ **Conducting routine inspections and mechanical maintenance on vacuum furnaces, including pumps, seals, valves, actuators, and structural components.**
+ **Diagnose mechanical issues such as leaks, misalignments, and wear-related failures. Perform timely repairs to minimize production downtime.**
+ **Work with engineering and operations teams to improve furnace performance, reliability, and mechanical efficiency.**
+ **Maintain detailed records of mechanical inspections, repairs, and modifications. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and mechanical standards.**
+ **Support Production Operations Provide mechanical support during furnace cycles, startup/shutdown procedures, and emergency situations.**
**What You Bring**
+ **Evidence of Associate's degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field is required and 5 years or more of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.**
+ **Experience with vacuum furnaces, thermal systems, or casting equipment is highly preferred and strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and familiarity with vacuum systems.**
+ **Skilled in using precision tools, gauges, and alignment instruments with ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics excellent troubleshooting and teamwork skills.**
+ **Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 10/30 and forklift and overhead crane operation or welding brazing certification (a plus) and ability to drive Root Cause driven improvement processes to include managing and following through on action items to completion.**
+ **Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.**
+ **This position will require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. What You'll Do:
Assemble, modify, and repair developmental electronic circuit boards
Diagnose and repair PCBA assemblies down to the component level
Build and troubleshoot prototype circuits for R&D and warranty investigations
Operate test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power supplies
Read and interpret technical documentation-schematics, BOMs, debug guides, and test procedures
Work with Engineering and Customer Service teams to analyze board failures and improve product performance
Collaborate on quality goals and diagnostic efficiency
Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in the Electronics Lab

Requirements What You Bring:
2-5 years of experience in prototype board assembly and troubleshooting
Proficiency in soldering (through-hole and SMT), and strong knowledge of electronic theory

Working Conditions/Physical Demands of the Position
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those typical in an electronics lab/productive environment. Tool use is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, including the sounds of forklifts, tools, and machinery. Work is generally performed near moving mechanical parts. In some instances personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in this work environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms all in a repetitive manner. Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties. Assists engineers in design and development of test procedures for new products and recommends product improvements or manufacturing modifications. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Troubleshoots to the component level. Utilizes schematic diagrams to isolate failures on Analog and Digital circuitry. Requires a strong knowledge of Solid State devices and micro-circuitry. Works in a dynamic production environment and is able to produce at a high level in support of customer schedules. Proficient in the use of various measurement devices including Digital Multi-meters, Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, frequency Standards, signal generators, and RF Power Meters.
