The Dimension Control Technician will be a part of the Tool Die Making team within the Tooling department and will have considerable knowledge of the job with substantial acquaintance with an understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job and be able to perform more advanced functions and resolve routine questions and problems.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Lay out, fabricate, and assemble a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angles and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required.
Plan work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs.
Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies.
Develop and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details.
Prepare operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Identifying the causes of faults and work with on-site teams to implement preventative measures so that they do not happen again.

Performing routine antenna capability tests.
Maintain primary and/or intrinsic calibration standards
Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment
Develop calibration procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other technical requirements
Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibration.
Identify IM&TE out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc
Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable
Prepare calibration reports and certificates
Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurements tasks for which they are not principally used
Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes
Train subordinates in calibration concepts and procedures
Interact with other technicians, Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, and customers

Track and input all maintenance and property management information in Maximo.
Maintain operational logs and mission summary reports, and enter status, repair and utilization information in the required AF equipment tracking systems.
Construct and fabricate targets, reflectors and aim points. Service and repair infrared targets as necessary.
Other Related Duties:
Performs other related duties as required by management to include supporting other work centers during surges. This may include cross training into other function areas to meet overall contract performance objectives.
Qualifications:
Education: High School graduate or High School equivalency. Graduate from an accredited two-year technical school with courses in Math, Basic Electronics, and Microwave Theory or military equivalent training with emphasis on Comm or RF disciplines. Experience: At least four years of hands-on experience as a technician operating and maintaining digital and analog equipment resulting in an in-depth knowledge of systems theory of operation. In-depth knowledge of: Electronics theory and the test equipment used for maintenance and repair of equipment with the proven ability to troubleshoot to the component level and make repairs.

In this position, you will perform surgical instrument inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a field-based setting. Technicians deliver superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards.
This position may require occasional overnight travel.
This role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle. If offered this position, STERIS will run a 7 year driving record check, as part of our onboarding process.
This Technician will service Customers in Salt Lake City, UT, Jackson, WY, and Idaho Falls, ID. Must be able to travel away from home 3 nights per month. Expenses fully paid when traveling.
What you'll do as a Repair Technician
Performs basic to intermediate level repairs of surgical instruments and maintenance including ultra sonic function, metallurgy, buff and polish, bending, shaping, sharpening, hinge points, serrations, and brazing.
Demonstrates quality performance in intermediate skilled work including advance Dremel operation, Re-cup and Re-jaw, laparoscopic inspection.
Provides invoicing and documentation based on business need.
While primarily working inside a mobile repair truck, frequent trips inside the hospital are required.
Provide support various locations within assigned territory depending on the service agreements, Customer needs, and staffing levels.
Abides by all Company safety, health policies, and procedures. Uses personal protective equipment, as required. Completes Safety observations per site requirements.
Adheres and complies with all protocols (DOT, company and Customer) for the safe operation of the mobile lab including policies and procedures relative to the position.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 1 year of experience at STERIS. All experience must be verifiable.
Related certifications in technical or mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards experience requirement.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times.
Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and sometimes outside normal business hours including nights and weekends, based on Customer and business needs.
Must be a minimum of 21 years old with ability to achieve and maintain FMCSA and drivers license requirements.
Must be able to pass a DOT medical/ physical exam, comply with all DOT regulations and conduct basic box truck safety checks.
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL not required) and maintain required vaccines.
