Key Responsibilities
Installation & Configuration: Install and configure electrical and electronic systems according to project specifications and automation standards.
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT): Perform FAT to validate machinery functionality against design requirements and support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) alongside engineering teams.
System Upgrades: Implement upgrades to enhance performance and integrate new features, including robotics, vision systems, and traceability tools.
Design Assistance: Collaborate with Automation Engineers to support equipment design and ensure compliance with process requirements.
System Analysis & Optimization: Analyze system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and provide actionable feedback for continuous optimization.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electromechanical and control system malfunctions, including robotics arms, pick-and-place systems, dispensing, and screwing stations.
Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for system assembly, operation, and maintenance standards.
Maintenance & Quality Assurance: Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance to ensure consistent quality and operational reliability.
Training & Standards Development: Train operators on proper use of automation systems and assist in developing maintenance standards for long-term reliability.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Control, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
Experience:
2+ years in corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance of automated machinery in production or field service environments.
Hands-on experience with:
Pick-and-place, dispensing, and screwing systems.
Vision control systems (understanding and programming).
Robotic arms for welding, material handling, and assembly.
Familiarity with operating lab equipment (oscilloscope, DVM, power supply, electronic loads, RF devices).
Knowledge of networking, computers, and operating systems.
Exposure to Automated Test Equipment (ATE fixtures and stations).

Test production/Refurb assemblies/systems for correct operation and compliance to performance specifications.

Comply with EHS regulations and policies and escalate concerns/suggestions to leadership.
Maintain daily production output.
Identify and report defects in assigned area.

Required Qualifications
Associates degree in an Electronics or Engineering field, or a technical certificate from a qualifying school with at least 25 credit hours in electronics including classes in electronics assembly, DC/AC/analog electronics, digital fundamentals, troubleshooting, and instrumentation, or a High School diploma and 2 years Electronics experience.
Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem-solving techniques
Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process
Must be able to physically lift (floor to waist, waist to crown level, and horizontally)
Lift and carry up to 35 lbs. (Anything over 35 lbs. requires assistance.)
Must be able to perform frequent simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation, neck rotation, and neck flexion frequently throughout the workday

It uses technology and calibrated measuring equipment but also relies heavily on hearing and sight. The job can be physically demanding as you will be on your feet for most of the day. You will engage in problem solving. Attention to detail is crucial for performing tests as well as compiling data. The safety data generated by this lab is scaled up to determine proper handling methods that are used in manufacturing and shipping of finished products, so precision is crucial. The tests will generate loud noises, flashes of light, smoke and fumes. PPE for all these is provided and required. Must be willing to wear safety glasses, safety shoes, smock, respirators, hearing protection, dust masks, Tyvek sleeves and other PPE as deemed necessary. You will be responsible for performing routine testing for long periods of time. Good communication skills are required for both written and spoken words as you will communicate directly with company customers as well as government representatives. You will spend most of work week with just one other person so the ability to work on your own (but not alone) is required.
