In December 1996, Eljer Industries, Inc. executed a definitive merger agreement with Zurn Industries, Inc., pursuant to which Zurn Acquisition Co., Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurn Industries, would merge with and into Eljer, with Eljer surviving as a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurn Industries. Eljer Industries, Inc. was engaged in the manufacture and marketing of plumbing; and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning products for residential construction, commercial construction, and repair and remodeling markets, as of September 29, 1996. Its products included vitreous China toilets and lavatories; enameled cast-iron tubs, whirlpools, and lavatories; registers; grilles; venting systems; prefabricated chimneys; air diffusers; and fireplaces. The company marketed its products through building products retailers and wholesale distribution channels in North America and Europe. The company is based in Dallas, Texas.
