Q: When did Ollswang's department store (which was located just south of the train station) close? A: Ollswang's Department Store was sold on October 20, 1961 to Mid-States Department Stores of Milwaukee.

A: Café Parisien opened in 1972 and was located 696 W. North Avenue.

1978

29, 1978: People flock to the grand opening of St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Elmhurst. — James Mayo, Chicago Tribune, Sept.

1979

In November 1979 the Loading Zone opened a German Gasthaus (pub), later known as Inge’s Gasthaus and Restaurant.

1985

6, 1985: Men raise scaffolds at 'Old Main,' a landmark structure at Elmhurst College.

1987

The plan was approved, the shopping plaza was rebuilt and Jewel-Osco had its grand opening in July 1987.

1989
