Elmira College in Elmira, New York, is a small liberal arts college with a rich history. Elmira College was one of the first schools to offer educational opportunities to women, well over 150 years ago. Today Elmira operates as a highly selective institution, where students get a rigorous and personalized education from expert faculty. Elmira College's major areas of study include: * American Studies * Chemical Engineering * English Literature * Pre-Law * Pre-Medicine * Speech and Hearing * Theatre Elmira's enrollment rarely rises far beyond 1,000. In addition to GPA, class rank and ACT or SAT scores, Elmira evaluates extracurricular activities, recommendation letters and applicants' essays. Elmira participates in federal financial aid programs, including loans and grants. Full and partial tuition scholarships are available as well. Criteria used for distributing scholarships include academic merit, leadership activities and financial need.
