Reports to The district's Child Nutrition Director & Kitchen Manager Terms of Employment Part-time / 10 months / Hourly- $12.50-$13.00 / 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Dishwasher Responsibilities Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using dishwashing machines or manual washing techniques. Ensure all dishes are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and dried before being stored for reuse. Keep dishwashing area and kitchen equipment clean, sanitized, and organized Regularly clean sinks, counters, and floors to maintain a sanitary environment Properly dispose of kitchen waste, including food scraps and trash Ensure that dishwashing equipment is kept in good working condition and notify the Child Nutrition Director if repairs are needed. Assist in maintaining inventory of kitchen supplies and inform the Kitchen Manager when stock is low Follow all safety and hygiene standards set by the school and health department regulations. Job Requirements/Regulations Must be able to lift 25 lbs or 50 lb with assistance Must complete 6 hours of USDA Professional Standard training, annually. Work flexible hours (early mornings, longer/shorter shifts, nights) Must wear a hair restraint and non-slip shoes when preparing/serving food. Must have a valid drivers license No jewelry besides a wedding band or necklace that can be tucked into shirt Nails must be kept short and unpolished No wearing of strong perfumes/cologne No cell phone use unless an emergency Professionalism & Communication Demonstrate professionalism by being in regular attendance and arriving on time to work, staff meetings, parent nights and other assigned duties. Essential Functions The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Maintain dish room organization, dish cleaning equipment and sanitation records and logs. * Ensure all dishes and kitchen equipment are clean and sanitized. * Performs posted opening and closing duties. * Maintains the proper storage of food items and kitchen equipment in designated storage areas. * Ensures that sanitary and HACCP procedures are maintained in assigned areas. * Assist the culinary team in occasional preparation of food. * Maintain health code compliance including, but not limited to, temperature, safe food handling procedures and proper sanitary procedures.
