This is a travel position with job sites in OR, WA, and ID. The Travel Utility Excavator/Equipment Operator will be responsible for safely and skillfully operating and maintaining construction equipment (cable plows, backhoe, mini excavator, skid steer, rock saw, and other utility construction equipment). What You'll Do The Designer - Substation is responsible for supporting substation design projects across the QISG platform by performing routine 2D/3D Physical and/or Protection & Control (P&C) design tasks. Job Summary: A Successful Directional Drill Locator/ Operator is specially trained and has expertise in locating for horizontal/directional drill rigs and product support equipment. This individual will be primarily responsible for the setup and completion of drilling variable-sized underground boreholes and pulling back the required conduit/pipe. As a Directional Driller/Equipment Operator, you are responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment; Directional Drill, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) Vac. Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, Locator, along with others not listed. What You'll Do Responsibilities: Locate for Directional Drill for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable. Ensure the safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities. Operate Directional Drill Assist in potholing and remediation. Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins. Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates. Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks, and grounding the machine. Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions. Ability to perform proper reaming and pull-back methods for existing conditions. Oversee laborer's and/or crew members' work and monitor time usage. Communicate with the Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e., Bore logs, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs, etc.) Follows specifications for the job and company policies. Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site. Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work. TRAVEL IS A MUST What You'll Bring Qualifications: Possess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position. A good driving record is required. Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner. Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner. Class A Commercial Driver's License is REQUIRED Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc. Willing and able to work in all weather conditions. Work Environment: This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. This position may occasionally be exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. Physical Requirements: The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours at a time), tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching and feeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee will need to be able to regularly lift 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. You will also provide matrix supervision to a large group of Field Engineer personnel in handling all aspects of these businesses in dealing with customers in the power industry. **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Provide advanced process tuning for Boiler or BOP processes. + Work with plant operations teams, while at site, to ensure effective tuning of plant processes for optimized productivity of steam and electricity. + Develop and implement startup and tuning activities for major retrofit projects. + Generate and store tuning reports for all site tuning. + Work with stimulation group to startup and tune high fidelity systems for different customer units. + Conduct site acceptance and performance testing for major retrofit projects to meet contractual performance targets. + Apply highly specialized knowledge and skills in an advisory or technical assistant role to engineering and management teams on complex technical or related problems. + Contact customers to review and promote their needs for service, maintenance contracts, system adds, and stand-alone system requirements. + Develop and advise the implementation of "engineered system" projects or system adds using current and non-current technologies. + Provide project management on large projects during installation, start-up, or where it is required to supervise our subcontractors (such as system installers). + Provide recommendations for hiring of Field Engineers and participate in interviews, performance evaluations, etc. + Analyze, investigate, and resolve customer warranty and policy claims.
