Responsible for coordination of the patient's plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions that lead to established outcomes. Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. • Encourage attending physicians to record and sign progress notes, physicians' orders, etc., on a timely basis and in accordance with current regulations.
• Inform the Director when physician visits are not made in a timely manner.
• Consult with the resident, his/her family, and the resident's physician in planning the resident's care, treatment, rehabilitation, etc., as necessary.
• Notify the resident's attending physician and next-of-kin when there is a change in the resident's condition.
• Visit residents on a daily basis in order to observe and evaluate each resident's physical and emotional status.
• Ensure that direct nursing care be provided by a licensed nurse, a certified nursing assistant, and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedure.
• Review nurses' notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident's response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident's wishes.
• Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
• Start IVs, obtain sputum, urine and other specimens for lab tests as ordered.

Equipment and Supply Functions • Recommend to the Director the equipment and supply needs of the department. • Ensure that an adequate stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., is maintained on premises at all times to meet the needs of the resident. • Assist the Maintenance Director in developing a preventive maintenance program for maintaining the nursing service department's equipment and supplies in a safe and operable manner. • Participate in the development and implementation of the procedures for the safe operation of all nursing service equipment. • Ensure that only trained and authorized personnel operate the nursing service department's equipment. • Ensure that all personnel operate nursing service equipment in a safe manner. • Monitor nursing procedures to ensure that nursing service supplies are used in an efficient manner to avoid waste. • Ensure that appropriate MSDSs are on file for hazardous chemicals used in the nursing service department.
Care Plan and Assessment Functions • Participate in the development of written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident as necessary. • Participate in the development of a written plan of care (preliminary and comprehensive) for each resident that identifies the problems/needs of the resident, indicates the care to be given, goals to be accomplished, and which professional service is responsible for each element of care. • Encourage the resident to participate in the development and review of his/her care plan. • Review resident care plans for appropriate resident goals, problems, approaches, and revisions based on nursing needs. • Ensure that all personnel involved in providing care to the resident are aware of the resident's care plan. Ensure that nursing personnel refer to the resident's care plan prior to administering daily care to the resident. • Review nurses' notes to determine if the care plan is being followed. • Assist the Resident Assessment/Care Plan Coordinator in planning, scheduling, and revising the MDS, including the implementation of RAPs and Triggers. • Review resident's medical and nursing treatments to ensure that they are provided in accordance with the resident's care plan and wishes.
Budget and Planning Functions • Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations, and recommend to the Director adjustments in nursing services that ensure the continued ability to provide quality care. • Recommend to the Director the equipment needs of the nursing service department. • Report suspected or known incidence of fraud relative to false billings, cost reports, kickbacks, etc.

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Job Description:
The Clinical Research Nurse ensures that the health and safety of research participants and the integrity and quality of clinical trials are maintained and conducted by federal, state, IRB, departmental, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures. In collaboration with research teams, they will support and provide direction in internal and external monitoring and auditing activities. They will serve as a liaison and work closely with investigators, department members, study sponsors, IRB, and the institution to support the administration of compliance, financial, personnel, and other related aspects of all ongoing clinical studies. Additional duties may be assigned to support incoming projects, department, and institutional needs.
Requirements:
2+ years of Bone Marrow Transplant/Hematology-Oncology nursing experience required.
