Responsibilities


The Temporary Registered Nurse ("RN") Program is a temporary, minimum of thirty-six (36) hours per
week program for selected RNs. The maximum commitment period is a twelve (12) week period per signed
agreement.
The Summer Temporary Registered Nurse ("RN") Program is a temporary, minimum of thirty-six (36) hours per
week program for selected RNs. The maximum commitment period is a twelve (12) week period per signed
agreement with the required CNO/COO approval, which may be considered for extension for select individuals
only after obtaining written leadership approval.
These positions will be paid overtime for all hours worked over forty (40) hours per week per pay period.
RNs must work all assigned shifts during their twelve (12) week agreement. Three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts
equals thirty-six (36) total shifts. If the RN misses any shifts during the twelve (12) week agreement, they are
required to work the balance of the missing shifts prior to the end of the agreed upon time period.


Qualifications


Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter - Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.

Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintained standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The Registered Nurse recognizes that each patient is a unique individual and has the right to quality nursing care that ensures mutual goal setting between the Registered Nurse and the patient and that the Registered Nurse assures patient rights and privacy are protected. The Registered Nurse is held accountable to the ethical and professional standards as defined in the ANA Code for Nurses, the ANA Nursing's Social Policy Statement, the State of Michigan Public Heath code and the ANA and Specialty Nursing Standards of Clinical Practice. The Registered Nurse is also accountable to adhering to the standards set by regulatory agencies such as but not limited to the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Conditions of Participation of Healthcare Finance Administration (HCFA), and Michigan Occupational Health and Safety (MIOSHA). **Qualifications**

**Required:**

+ Education - Graduate of an approved registered nursing program.

+ Must have a current Michigan Registered Nurse license.

+ BLS Certification required.

+ Must become ACLS certified within three (3) months of date of hire/accepting position.

+ Must become PALS certified within six (6) months of date of hire/accepting position.

+ TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum) within 1 year.

+ Must have had six months ER experience within the last two years and/or meet internal posting criteria.

**Preferred:**

+ Six months experience in an Intensive or Coronary Care Unit within the last two years preferred and/or meet internal posting criteria.

+ One year hospital practice as a registered nurse.
