Maintain records and prepare reports on equipment tests, usage, and fire and ambulance incidents. * Operate ambulance and other related emergency equipment. Assess the general condition of the injured individual by noting vital signs, pupil dilation, respiration, skin temperature, alertness, and mental orientation. * Administer necessary emergency care to stabilize a patient for transport; administer CPR; administer intravenous fluids and medications to a patient on instruction from medical personnel; check victims at the scene for medic alert symbols or emblems; and transport the patient to ambulance or emergency vehicle with special care to avoid further injury. * Aircraft firefighting and rescue duties, including airport-specific response procedures under the Federal Aviation Administration and other applicable state or federal regulations. If assigned, may be required to drive ARFF apparatus. * May be required to travel in aircraft and watercraft to provide emergency medical services.
