Under the general direction of the assigned supervisor, the Firefighter/Paramedic position provides basic and/or advanced life support and firefighting work in the treatment of the sick or injured and firefighting duties in preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires along with other rescue related duties as necessary. Additionally, the position is expected to learn and understand equipment maintenance and safety techniques to ensure safe and effective operations for the department. Memorize City facilities, streets, hydrants, sprinkler connections, and FD key boxes. Conduct public education programs, fire inspections, and pre-fire planning activities. Maintain high standard of professional appearance, attitude, and customer service at all times. Answer and forward incoming phone calls.
