Tech may answer basic transport questions, such as name, age, sex, chief complaint/diagnosis to the Dispatch/transporting personnel when making helicopter or ambulance transport arrangements, but REPORT is done only by the R.N. on duty. 38. Redirect requests for assistance outside the CNA Scope of Practice to the R.N. on duty immediately. 39. Check the E.D. Stock Supply items for outdates, remove outdated items immediately and replace. 41. E.D. Techs may NOT remove Intravenous Lines/Catheters. 42. E.D. Techs may NOT remove Foley Catheters. 43. E.D. Techs may NOT discharge patients. Discharge and Patient Care Follow Up Instructions are to be done by the R.N. on duty. 44. Use of personal cell phones during work time is to be kept to a minimum. The use of personal cell phones, I-Pads, Kindles, or similar devices is restricted to Break and Meal Times, or when the E.D. is completely empty of patients, and all the rooms have been fully restocked and required Daily Checks completed. 45. Absolutely no patient/family/visitor photos may be taken at any time using a personal cell phone.
