Nemours is seeking an EMT for our Transport Team! Schedule includes a DAY Shift 7a-7p, full-time, 72 hours biweekly position with every third weekend and every third holiday requirements. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients from referring hospitals or to other facilities and destinations. This includes the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and being an assistant to the transport Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist teams. All direct care is provided under EMT Certification. Additional skills performed by the EMT are under the direct supervision of transport Team RN/RT and under Medical Command Officer direction.
The CCTT transports on average ten (10) patients daily. Ninety (90) percent of patients are transported by ambulance; the remaining patients are flown by helicopter. Patient placement includes specialty care units such as pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, cardiac intensive care, burn units, emergency and surgical units, as well as the general pediatric floors. In addition to performing inter-hospital transports, the CCTT staff assists with patient care in the PICU, NICU, and ED, and serves as resources to other nursing units within the hospital. The Nemours CCTT is honored to be one of only a few pediatric transport teams to offer and successfully transport patients on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).

Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Nemours' insurance carrier

Responsible for accurate, timely medical treatment of employees and patrons.
Ability to document Fire & EMS incidents electronically through the use of the State of Delaware DEMERS EMS Report system and Delaware Park CIP report system.
Ability to perform Fire & EMS Inspections as assigned.
Maintains liaisons with outside Fire/EMS agencies.
Responsible for accurate and efficient operation of procedures within designated departments.
Communicate (both written and verbal) with and promote positive team members and guest relations.
Maintain professionalism at all times when working with other team members and/or guests.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Presently hold a Delaware and National Registry EMT Certification, Emergency Vehicle Operators License (EVO), Valid CPR-AED Certification
Strong knowledge of State Ambulance and EMS regulations.
Must be able to successfully complete and maintain the background check and licensing process, required by the Delaware Lottery.
Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. without difficulty.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computer skills.
Act with discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Must be able to sit for at least a full eight (8)-hour shift.
Ability to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat, and grasp as needed.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to work in station assignments with limited space, high volumes, diverse clientele, minimal and/or bright lighting, and variation of climate control.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate with co-workers and management is mandatory.

Requirements:
BSN required or commitment to obtaining within three years of date of hire.
At least one year of experience in a med/surgical unit or ED required.
BLS required.
Hours:
This is a Part Time Midnights (60 hours per pay) position a nd an Evening/Midnight of 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. This would be one we of three 12-hour shifts and on week of two 12-hour shifts. Commitment required for every third weekend and 2 holidays per year.

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
