An EMT provides emergency medical care and transportation to patients who access the EMS System. Teamwork at Trans-Care is pivotal to a stong EMS system.

What will I do as an EMT-Basic?
An EMT provides emergency medical care and transportation to patients who access the EMS System. The EMT is trained to assist higher certified technicians, including paramedics, in the treatment of patients. In non-emergent situations, the medical response team provides transportation to patients who require an ambulance because of a medical condition.
Job Duties:
The EMT will satisfactorily perform all skills and procedures as designed by the Indiana EMS Commission curriculum.
While on duty, the EMT will practice his or her skills and fulfill his or her duties within the Indiana scope of practice and the Standard of Care, any physician order, or any direction by a higher medical authority.
The EMT will respond to EMS calls as assigned by the communications center observing the policies of Trans-Care on “out of chute” and “end of shift” time.
The EMT will know and follow all Trans-Care policies and procedures regarding normal operations and treat all Trans-Care customers, patients, fellow employees and/or vendors with honesty and respect according to Trans-Care's Code of Conduct.
The EMT will observe a strict standard of patient confidentiality regarding the access, possession or transmission of Personal health information (PHI) per Trans- Care's privacy policies designed to protect such information from access by unauthorized persons.
The EMT will safeguard the privacy of all patient protected health information in accordance with Trans-Care privacy policies, procedures and practices, as requested by federal and state law, and in accordance with Trans-Care policies of professionalism as a health care provider.
The EMT will report any concerns regarding real or possible breach of policies and procedures regarding patient confidential information and any observed practices by fellow employees which appear to violate these policies and/or procedures to the Privacy Officer at his/her earliest opportunity either in person, by email or anonymously as provided by federal regulation.
The EMT will be courteous and professional at all times while on duty. That shall include interactions with Trans-Care's customers, its patients, and communications center, and his or her supervisor(s). Attitudes that demonstrate sarcasm, argumentativeness and hostility are not acceptable behaviors.
Prior to each shift and in accordance with Indiana law, the EMT will account for, check operability of, and be responsible for certifying that all required and basic equipment are operation, functional and located on her or her assigned unit.
The EMT will maintain his or her in-service education as prescribed by the Indiana State EMT Agency.
The EMT will operate his or her assigned vehicle and personal conduct under the laws and riles of the State of Indiana and the safety policies of Trans-Care including but not limited to procedures designed to enhance and provide the crew and patient safety at all times.
The EMT will submit documentation that is complete, accurate and timely prior to leaving his/her shift at the designated time for departure.
The EMT will help maintain a clean and hazard free work environment by performing such cleaning chores as requested both on or in a vehicle and station.
The EMT will advise of all vehicle problems needing attention or repair and submit the proper report(s) necessary for correction per Trans-Care procedure.
The EMT will maintain himself/herself in a fit condition to be able to perform lifting, bending, stooping and other associated physical activity without injury.
The EMT will also perform any reasonably related duties as prescribed by his/her supervisor.

At the direction of the Center Medical Director, communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of victims at treatment facility
Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center
Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms
Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly
Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping
Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
In partnership with center leadership, assist with patient flow and volume
Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit
Cross trained to perform Front Office duties including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, check in/out, communicating wait times, answering multi-line telephone system, distributing employer results/paperwork, etc.
Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules
Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required
Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility

* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

Position Summary
The Medication Technician will be responsible for the daily process of medication monitoring and the overall medication regimen for the clients at Mockingbird Hill Recovery Center. Duties include, but are not limited to instructing clients on medication uses, side effects and possible interactions to report, administering injections and performing TB tests, processing medication refill requests and prior authorizations, completing vital signs and other measurements, consulting with providers and nurses for medication issues and follow-up, updating client medication records, and monitoring individuals on health issues relevant to their care.
Education and Experience
Graduate of Medical Assistant (MA), Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), Certified Nursing Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic program accredited by the U.S. Department of Education required

Certification

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant's skills and experience. Role is also eligible for team based bonus opportunities. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company's 401(k) program.

Based on state regulations and completion of required training/certification, Medication Aides/Techs will administer or assist with self-administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by the health care provider and observe/report responses to your supervisor.
Certified Medication Aides/Techs make sure the medication supply room is organized and clean, assist with medication cart audits, and provide accurate counts of all medications. You will also communicate with pharmacies to coordinate medication delivery.
Based on state regulation, completion of training/certification is required.

THE JOB
As a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician, you're part of a team that thrives on the front lines of emergency veterinary care where every second counts. You'll handle a wide range of cases, from minor to complex emergencies, collaborating with our doctors and team in delivering gold standard, emotionally intelligent care. You'll jump into triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, all while being a steady, compassionate presence for pet parents in their most stressful moments. This role is for someone who wants to do the work they were trained to do (and more), continue growing their skills, and help people and their pets when they need it most.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Treat every patient and person like they matter-because they do! You keep people and pets together and stay by their side through tests, treatments, and everything in between
* Jump into action, delivering nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in the most critical moments, from first triage to discharge
* Bring the meds, the monitoring, the mastery-from IVs and CRIs to blood transfusions and beyond
* Communicate like a teammate and think like a leader, helping shape plans and keep care flowing
* Be ready to perform CPR like the trained RECOVER rockstar you are (not only do we offer training, we have the highest number of RECOVER CPR professionals and instructors in the industry!)
* All the techy stuff-from diagnostics and imaging to sample collection and placing tubes
* Anesthesia, even for our most fragile patients? You've got it.
* Use all the advanced techniques in your toolkit: central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds, and more
WHAT YOU NEED
* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred
* Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia is a plus and will lead to extra considerations in compensation.
* 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred
* Basic computer skills and a comprehension of practice management software and electronic medical record keeping
* Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you
* Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
* Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor as well as ability to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance
* Must be willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
* Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
* Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types
