We are seeking a caring and friendly EMT/ Security Officer at John Knox Village, a leading healthcare and life plan community located in Pompano Beach. In this role, the selected candidate will respond to emergency calls from Residents, Employees and Visitors in a efficient and professional manner. When not responding to emergency calls, this position will perform roving duties. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES * Rapid response to emergency calls from a dispatcher such as requests for medical assistance following emergency response proceedings. * Assess emergency medical situation and perform physical examinations as needed. * Administer first aid treatment and other emergency care to sick or injured persons and assist with facilitating the transport to medical facilities * Determine whether ER visit is needed. * Provide emergency medical care and other treatment pursuant to EMT certification. * Utilize necessary medical equipment to treat and ascertain the extent of injury or illness. * Complete incident reports documenting any medical response calls on campus. POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTS Technical skills and Knowledge * High School Diploma or GED. * Possess and maintain a State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license. * Valid Driver's License. * 2 to 4 years of related experience. * Must have strong attention to detail and note taking skills. * Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and more than one task at a time. * Must be able to sit, stand and patrol for long periods of time. * Ability to lift and push at least 50 pounds, and have the stamina, endurance, and flexibility to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel. Interpersonal Skills * Outstanding communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak in English. * Able to effectively communicate via two-way radios. * Demonstrated ability to remain calm at all times. * Demonstrated ability to be helpful, courteous and attentive.
