This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
Other Responsibilities:
Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Kansas Paramedic certification or eligible for Kansas certification.
State Driver's License.
BLS and ACLS required upon hire. PALS is preferred, but not required.
Driving record compliant with company policy.
Pass Physical Agility Test.
Some work experience, preferably healthcare.

Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center
Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms
Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly
Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping
Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
In partnership with center leadership, assist with patient flow and volume
Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit
Cross trained to perform Front Office duties including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, check in/out, communicating wait times, answering multi-line telephone system, distributing employer results/paperwork, etc.

* You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
* You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
* You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
* You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Emergency medical technician job in Lees Summit, MO
PRN (As Needed) To provide a 24-hour emergency and non-emergency ambulance service with state approved personnel. Secondary duties to maintain up to date knowledge of Missouri Laws governing ambulances and personnel. Supportive of the Village's mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations. Completes training hours as required by policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Administers basic life support to and transports sick or injured persons to medical facility, working as member of emergencymedical team.
* Responds to instructions from dispatcher and drives specifically equipped emergency vehicle to specified location.
* Monitors communication equipment to maintain contact with dispatcher.
* Removes or assists in removal of victims from scene of accident or catastrophe.
* Determines nature and extent of illness or injury, magnitude of catastrophe, follows medical protocols or determines need for additional assistance, bases decisions on statements of persons involved, examination of victim(s) and knowledge of emergencymedical practice.
* Administers prescribed basic life support at site of emergency or in specially equipped vehicle performing such activities as application of splints, administration of oxygen, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, administration of artificial resuscitation.
* Communicates with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and arrange for reception of victims at treatment facility.
* Assists treatment center admitting personnel to obtain and record information related to victims vital statistics and circumstances of emergency.
* Maintains vehicles and medical and communication equipment and replenishes first-aid equipment and supplies.
* May assist professional medical personnel in emergency treatment administered at medical facility.
* Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements.
* Handles stress well and gets along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department.
* Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.

Education:
* This position requires the level of education typically acquired by a course of study leading to a high school diploma or GED.
Licenses/Certifications:
* Missouri State EMT-B and CPR Certifications required.
* Missouri Class E driver's license or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills (required unless otherwise noted):
* Basic level keyboarding skills required.
* Must maintain CEU hours required by current EMT and CPR certifications.
* Experience with investigations of incidents and conflicts.
* Experience using an ambulance.
* Experience using an oxygen tank, air ways, suction equipment, respirator and heart monitor.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, handbooks and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Excellent customer service skills required.
Special Working Conditions
* The associate is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. The associate is subject to extreme cold temperatures typically below 32 degrees and extreme heat above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
