Communicate with receiving facility to receive medical direction and to provide critical information.
Provides orderly transfer of the patient to the receiving facility.
Complete all required documentation prior to end of shift.
Insure ambulance is clean and stocked for next oncoming shift prior to end of shift.

Job Summary:
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide essential medical support within the emergency shelter facilities operated under the Georgia Department of Public Health Emergency Preparedness program. The EMT will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and shall perform duties including but not limited to patient assessment, emergency response, and assistance based on guests' needs. This position requires adherence to all state and federal regulations within the scope of practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history.
- Provide basic medical care, including wound care, CPR, and administering medications as per protocol.
- Assist in emergencies by providing immediate medical attention.
- Develop and implement basic patient care plans in consultation with the healthcare team.

- Assist with diagnostic tests and support medical staff in analyzing results.
3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance processes to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Promptly address and resolve any performance issues or complaints.
4. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment provided.
- Ensure comprehensive and timely documentation of all care provided.
- Submit required reports on patient care activities and outcomes to the Department and Prime Contractor.
5. Onboarding and Training:
- Attend just-in-time orientation/training provided by the facility representative upon arrival at the assignment.
- Stay current with best practices in emergency medical care by attending ongoing training and education sessions.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive appropriate care.
- Communicate patient care plans and any changes to the medical team.
- Act as a liaison between patients and higher-level medical staff, conveying pertinent information.
7. Shift Assignments:
- Work scheduled shifts as determined by the Department's Office of Nursing Representative, which may include 8- or 12-hour shifts.
- Be prepared to hold over at the end of the shift if EMT resources are below minimum mandatory staffing levels until replacement coverage arrives.
Qualifications:
Licensure:
- Current, unencumbered License to practice as an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Georgia.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as an EMT.
Skills:
- Strong assessment skills and ability to perform under pressure.
- Basic medical and emergency care skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs, push and pull objects, and stand for long periods of time.
Certification:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an emergency shelter setting.
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and adapt to changing patient needs.
- Must be physically able to manage and operate medical equipment as necessary.
Reporting:
- Directly reports to the Charge Nurse or designated supervisory staff at the emergency shelter.
- Maintain regular communication with the Prime Contractor, Acuity International, and subcontractor, Sterling Medical.
Deliverables:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required documentation and reports.
- Adhere to the staffing schedule and any amendments therein.
- Respond to requests from the Department within the stipulated timeframes.

Job Description: Summary
Primary Job is to function as a Paramedic conducting patient care from an ambulance. Position is, time allowing, responsible for the daily supervision of the EMS field operations in the absence of senior management. Assures adequate zone coverage, compliance, and serves as AmeriPro EMS' liaison with outside responding agencies and personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises day-to-day field operation employees in the absence of senior management.
Ensures field employees have the required equipment to perform the essential functions of their assigned duties.

Prepares appropriate reports in the absence of senior management involving mechanical breakdowns, accident investigation, exposures, daily shift activities, and other incidents that may occur.
Ensures assigned employees adhere to AmeriPro EMS' policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
Ensures that AmeriPro EMS' Patient Care Protocols are adhered to.
Assist the Supervisor and Manager in evaluating the performance of employees assigned to him/her, maintains attendance records and ensures employees maintain a high level of professionalism.
In conjunction with the Communications Supervisor, monitors the overall deployment and efficiency of the established system. Makes decisions concerning IFT, Mutual Aid, and Out of town trips in absence of Senior Management.
Shall manage the day to day short term scheduling needs.
Ensure that crews TEFs are turned into Operations Supervisor.
Will deliver RTF paperwork to employees on duty, forwarding back to administrative assistant.
Will ensure a daily duties (truck cleaning, station duties, check offs, etc…) are preformed
Will be the first contact OJIs, Complaints; Company related Accidents, etc… Will be responsible for starting initial investigations and forward to Operations Supervisor for completion.
Completes daily report at end of each shift, detailing activities of shift.
Serves as a leader and provides guidance and training for new employees and students.
Performs all of the above functions in accordance with established financial and operational plans and goals pertaining to cost effectiveness and efficient management.
Shall respond to the scene of calls with crews and shall assume command and coordinate ambulance transport in the event of a Mass Casualty Incident until relieved by a member of senior management.
Attend regular planning meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates the ability to safely lift, transfer and maneuver patients in and out of ambulances, facilities, residences and other locations.
