Minimum Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Current EMT certification in the state of Kansas, or eligible for reciprocity. National Registry is optional.
Working twenty-four (24) hour shifts and up to thirty-six (36) hours, including weekends and holidays. On-call/standby work is also required.
Biennial Kansas EMT recertification at the employee's expense.
A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Successful completion of post-offer drug testing
Two (2) years of experience providing basic life support prehospital care is preferred.
Johnson County government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

Compensation:
The 2026 hourly pay rate for this position is $18.21-$26.89, which calculates to an annual salary in the range of $60,603-$89,490, commensurate with experience. There is built-in overtime inherent to our 24-hour shift schedule, and on average, our full-time employees work 56 hours per week. Our financial compensation package progresses through a 16-step pay plan so that operational employees can clearly predict how their salaries will advance over time.

At the direction of the Center Medical Director, communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of victims at treatment facility
Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the center
Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms
Complete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly
Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping
Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected
In partnership with center leadership, assist with patient flow and volume
Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit
Cross trained to perform Front Office duties including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, check in/out, communicating wait times, answering multi-line telephone system, distributing employer results/paperwork, etc.

Overview

Responsibilities
Operates ambulances safely on emergent and non-emergent transports. Ensures ambulances are safe, clean and operational.
Assists with direct patient care within the scope of EMT training.

Qualifications

Documents administration is required.

Position Summary
Under direct supervision from the Security Supervisor, the PT Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides basic level emergency and non-emergency care to the ill and injured, to include assessment of illness and/or injury, management of such patients, preparation for transport, transfer of information, and patient care.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $21.00

Responsibilities
* Provide basic life support treatment of patients
* Provide CPR all with in the EMT scope of practice
* Thorough knowledge of EMS procedures and ability to integrate knowledge and performance into practical situations
* Interact professionally with guest, staff and other health care personnel
* Interact professionally with disabled, disadvantaged, sick and injured persons
* Work as part of a team
* Accurately and completely document information required
* Give report verbally or in writing to manager
* Clean the equipment, check and replace the used and damaged supplies
* Compliance with all company and local agency policies, procedures, and applicable protocols for emergency treatment
* Maintain a clean appearance, demonstrating courteous and ethical behavior
* Maintain high degree of visibility and professionalism; respond to various situations, issues and requests for assistance; prepare incident reports in accordance with departmental standards

Qualifications
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Minimum of one (1) year of EMT experience
* Must pass required drug screening
* High school diploma, or equivalent GED
* Possession of, or ability to obtain a Kansas or Missouri driver's license or id card
* Possession of, or ability to obtain a CPR and First Aid certificate
* Possession of, or ability to obtain state (Kansas) or national EMT or First Responder certificate
* Basic Life Support certified
