JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Polysomnographic Technologist II performs comprehensive polysomnography in accordance with OMC's Sleep Center policies and procedures, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.
EDUCATION
Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography OR
Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year's duration, associated with a state-licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility OR
Equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technologist
EXPERIENCE
18 months' experience in polysomnography preferred
LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS
Certification (and maintenance of certification) by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) OR
Equivalent registration by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
Current BLS certification

Follows re-fill process for medications.
Participates in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration rates.
Reports occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals immediately.

Transports patients to rooms/ treatment rooms, using wheelchair or stretcher, or assists them to walk.
