The position shall not supersede the RN or Paramedic role in patient care once responsibility for a patient is transferred from the EMT to the paramedic or RN. Current BLS, certification (instructor status preferred). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be capable of, performing in cramped quarters, any type of weather condition, and other risks including hazardous materials.Must possess and maintain physical condition that allows running, climbing and carrying of medical equipment and lifting of patients.Able to stand erect from a squatting position while lifting 175 pounds between two people - agility testing will be monitored annually.Free of motion sickness or history thereof or any physical ailment that may impair consciousness or cognitive ability Visual acuity meeting the vision requirements as set by the Rhode Island Registry of Motor Vehicles, even if licensed outside the state of Rhode Island. Visual color discrimination for identifying labels, patient assessment, read placards, etc.Hearing adequate to converse in normal tones, hear equipment sounds and alarms, use radios and other communications devices, and perform other job tasks (including corrected).EXPERIENCE:One year experience in emergencymedical care preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Variable environment, including in and out-of-hospital emergency care situations that may include disaster situations with exposure to unknown substances and/or risks, exposure to ill and injured patients, and training environments. Research and training environment may include in and out-of-hospital clinical and medical simulation settings. The Fire Safety Technician position (Firefighter/EMT) is a person that influences life-safety conditions in a fast-paced shipyard manufacturing environment. They will respond to all types of emergencies within Electric Boat. The EB Fire Department is an all-hazards organization that responds to all reported fires in office type buildings, motor vehicles, and industrial settings like the manufacturing and production buildings, and sections of a submarine being built. They also respond to all hazardous material incidents, confined space rescues, high angle rope rescues, motor vehicle accidents, entrapments and all requests for emergencymedical services. All Fire Safety Technicians are required to be able to wear full firefighter turnout gear and SCBA during emergency response and incident mitigation.
When not responding to emergencies the Fire Safety Technician will perform daily vehicle checks, inventory of all specialized rescue gear and equipment, drive and operate specialized fire apparatus to include: fire engine, rescues, special hazards and an ambulance. production support of shipbuilders by performing certification of hazardous and non-hazardous atmospheres for work in all confined spaces. Fire-safety inspections of all EB owned and leased buildings as well as submarine units will be completed by this position, issuance of and provide surveillance(s) for all hot-work being performed on the facility and code enforcement in accordance with NFPA, OSHA, RI State Fire Code, Electric Boat and US Navy requirements.
Other responsibilities of this position are but not limited to performing hazmat locker inspections; FDC inspections, AED maintenance and inspection, combustible gas meter maintenance and bump testing, yearly flow testing of fire hydrants, dry and wet-pipe sprinkler systems, monthly testing of fire alarm and fire pump systems, fire extinguisher as well as yearly testing of all fire hose. Electric Boat Fire Safety Technician's work closely with area fire departments during emergencies as well as maintenance personnel to maintain a safe and productive manufacturing facility.
Fire Safety Technicians are required to maintain all Firefighter, Specialized Rescue, EMS and Hazmat certifications through company provided refresher training.

We are currently looking for a per diem On Call Response Cardiac or Paramedic for overnights, weekends and holidays. This is an on-call from home position with an on-call rate paid to the applicant to be available if needed during the set times and a rate for the applicant if a response was warranted during those set times.
We provide off hours clinician coverage to a group of RI Community Members. The role of the On Call Response Cardiac/Paramedic would be to be available during specific hours in the event a visit to a community member was needed for a medical complaint. The On Call Responder would be notified about the visit from an Alert Healthcare Nurse and be provided with all the information needed. They would leave their home and safely travel to the community members home. Once there, properly assess the patient and contact a dedicated Program Provider who is overseeing the community members care. A care plan would then be discussed and decided on and the On Call Responder would then treat the community member appropriately in their home or contact emergency services so community members can be transported to a higher level of care.
Job Duties:

Requirements
Must have state MedicationTechnician License and demonstrate competency in accordance with the state-approved protocol in drug administration
Successfully complete medicationtechnician competency review (as supervised by RN / RCD) quarterly
CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire
The MedicationTechnician must complete a state approved training course in drug administration and receive a certificate of satisfactory successful completion.
Med-Techs will be evaluated on their competency by the RCD each quarter
Must have current certification as a nursing assistant or have successfully completed the certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker training program
High School education preferred

Key Responsibilities:
Medication Administration:
Administer a variety of by-mouth medications (excluding Class II) , topical ointments , eye, ear, and nose drops , rectal and vaginal medications , and nebulizer treatments.
Administer "as needed" medications after getting approval from the charge nurse.
Take and record vital signs before administering specified medications or as requested by the charge nurse.
Medication and Supply Management:
Re-order medications as needed and check all medication bottles for expiration dates and re-ordering needs.
Receive, account for, and properly store medications delivered from the pharmacy.
Clean the medication cart and bottles daily.
Communication & Documentation:
Document all administered medications, including refusals and "as needed" doses, on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
Notify the charge nurse immediately if medications are unavailable or if residents are due for medications the CMT cannot administer, such as injections.
Resident Care & Support:
Answer resident call lights and provide assistance as needed.
Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
May also be required to perform all duties of a CNA.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills
Must hold a current, valid Certified MedicationTechnician (CMT) certificate.
Graduate of a state-approved CNA program.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
A genuine passion for working with the elderly and a commitment to long-term care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
Strong sense of empathy, patience, and personal integrity.
Ability to handle the physical and emotional demands of the position, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working with individuals who may be ill, disabled, or emotionally upset.
Physical and Sensory Requirements

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to lift, push, and move heavy equipment and supplies.
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
Must possess sight and hearing senses, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately to meet the position's requirements.
Must be in good general health, demonstrate emotional stability, and be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.

This role requires working throughout our facility in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be an active member of a dedicated team, subject to frequent interruptions but rewarded with the opportunity to build lasting connections. Flexibility is required, as shifts may include weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours to meet the needs of our residents.
