The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medicalemergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification

The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the Director of Sleep Services or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is able to perform the duties defined for a sleep technologist and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is credentialed in sleep technology.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Sleep Study Procedures Follow procedural protocols [such as Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration, etc.] to ensure collection of appropriate data. Perform appropriate physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals and make required adjustments. Follow lights out procedures to establish and document baseline values (such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates, etc.). Perform data acquisition while monitoring study‐tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact‐free. Identify, correct and document artifact. Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and other significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results. Implement appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.). Follow lights on procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process (e.g. repeat the physiological and instrument calibrations and instruct the patient on completing questionnaires, checking for completeness, etc.). Score sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines. Score clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals, etc.) utilizing AASM standards. Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform portable monitoring equipment preparation and data download. Perform patient education and instruction appropriate for out of center sleep testing. Demonstrate adherence to cleaning and disinfection procedures for portable monitoring devices. Demonstrate adherence to AASM scoring parameters for OCST; identify artifact, inadequate signals and study failures and generate an accurate report. Sleep Study Preparation and Set‐up Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient‐specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history). Determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols. Review the patients history and verify the medical order. Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study. When patient arrives, verify identification, collect documents and obtain consent for the study. Explain the procedure and orient the patient for either in center or out of center sleep testing. Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary. Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards. Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desentization. Service Management and Professional Issues Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation. Maintain current CPR or BLS certification. Maintain certification in sleep technology. Acquire 10 Continuing Education Units (CEU) to maintain credential. Demonstrate computer skills appropriate for the position. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. Adheres to all city fire codes, ordinances and fire laws and regulations of the state in order to protect life and property; complies with all rules, orders, and instructions issued by superior officer.
- Drives designated fire apparatus, emergency, and/or other fire vehicles to transport emergency/fire personnel and equipment to/from incident scene as necessary from any station.
- Responds with assigned fire company to emergency calls involving fires, hazardous materials, and vehicle accidents; evaluates scene upon arrival; may direct traffic and control crowds.
- Provides control of fire situation including suppression and extinguishment, forcible entry, ventilation, search and rescue of victims, salvage and overhaul; recognizes and preserves evidence of arson or other types of crimes.
- Selects and properly operates fire service tools and equipment including fire hoses, nozzles, ropes, appliances, and the components of sprinkler and standpipe systems; strategically positions fire apparatus; monitors controls and gauges.
- Locates water source; lays and connects hose, acts as nozzle or backup person in the direction of water streams, raises and climbs ladders, and uses chemical fire extinguishers.
- Identifies dangerous building conditions, electrical emergencies, hazardous materials, and ancillary health hazards; mitigates hazardous materials incidents; takes/applies appropriate precautions and procedures; informs and/or evacuates individuals and implements appropriate medical protocols.
- Provides emergencymedical care as an EMT-I/A which may include basic first aid, checking vital signs, basic life support, patient assessment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), spinal immobilization, starting IV fluids, maintenance, triage, defibrillation, inserting esophageal obturator airways, and/or other treatment; may assist patient with own medications per local protocols; implements infectious control procedures.
- Assesses the effects of treatment; provides rehydration and first aid support during fire ground activities; provides emergencymedical transport of injured persons as necessary; relays complete medical information to hospital personnel assuming the case.
- Performs various types of rescue operations as assigned, such as extrication of individuals from structures, trenches, underground entrapment, machinery, or vehicles, searches and rescues of fallen victims in high angle rescue situations in which rappelling is necessary, and/or animal rescue.
Aids and assists with emergencies or incidents involving public transportation (I.e. Rail, Passenger Bus, Aircraft) as assigned; performs a variety of tasks associated with public transportation crises such as rescue, fire extinguishment, first responder medical assistance, and spilled fuel containment.
- Aids and assists with emergencies or incidents involving multi-story/high-rise buildings as assigned; performs a variety of tasks associated with high-rise emergencies such as rescue, fire extinguishment, first responder medical assistance, and operating fire control systems.
- Implements emergency techniques when trapped or disoriented; assists fellow firefighters and guides new recruits; maintains and wears protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus as designed.
- Monitors and communicates effectively and coherently over radio channels while initiating and responding to radio communications; exchanges information with dispatchers, medical professionals, and other department employees.
- Prepares, decontaminates, inspects, inventories, repairs, and/or maintains fire equipment, apparatus, hoses, tools, materials, turnout gear, first aid equipment, and vehicles for safe operation; tests equipment on a regular basis; practices proper disposal of bio-hazard waste; fills air cylinders; performs post-fire clean-up.
- Prepares pre-fire plans including layout of building and hydrant locations; checks fire hydrants for proper function.
- Establishes and maintains good working relations with the public; attends community meetings; promotes and teaches fire safety and prevention; responds to questions and requests for information; investigates public complaints; executes disaster pre-plans as needed.
- Maintains current field and code manuals, policy and procedures, employee handbooks, various maps, addresses, and related material for reference and/or review.

What You'll Do

What You'll Do:
Provide customer service to residents, guests, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and guidelines.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any potential concerns.
Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence at the location.
Report and document security-related incidents, observations, and any maintenance concerns according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
EMT Certification is required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
