Reports any traffic accidents in accordance with California State Motor Vehicle Code and completes required accident reports. Stops ambulance and assists Ambulance Medical Technician in restraining patients who become irrational or violent. While in route, stops at scene of accident or other emergency and provides emergency care, if necessary. Completes Driver's Daily Trip Report including entries of information about ambulance servicing and patients transported. This includes patient's name and address, departure and return times, mileage, and any unusual circumstances or services performed such as the use of siren or oxygen. Reports any accompanying medial or non-medical personnel. Monitor and Operate radio and County issued cellular equipment to maintain constant communication capability. Review and respond to work-generated emails using County-issued equipment while on shift. Inspects ambulance and reports necessary repairs; checks and adds gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, and other fluids (e.g., transmission fluid, coolant, wiper fluid). Attend and participate in simulated emergency response drills. Transport patient belongings and durable medical equipment.
