The Firefighter/ Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to fire, medical and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) emergencies for the purpose of saving lives and protecting Pratt and Whitney property. What You Will Do: Respond to emergencies such as fire, hazmat and disaster by deploying equipment, assist in organizing and directing others and carrying out rescues using a variety of protective gear and specialized equipment. Respond to a wide variety of emergency medical incidents. Provide medical care consistent with Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) training. Supports paramedic on Advance Life Support (ALS) response and will be tasked with ambulance transport. Implementing initial scene operations, operating pumps, ventilation, conducting confine space rescue, fire attacks, hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents and assisting with salvage and overhaul operations Carry out inspection and testing of a variety of facilities and equipment, tools and fire protection devices, chemicals and support devices. May assist with fire investigation when requested. Test and repair firefighting equipment and perform condition status checks recommending overhaul and refurbishing actions to restore deficient operating parameters. Perform routine servicing and maintenance throughout the facilities for assigned area, equipment and vehicles following specified procedures and check list, clean facilities, vehicles and equipment and painting, observation, training and related activities. Carry out other tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description to develop individuals' skills and support objectives of the unit.
