WHAT YOU'LL DO
The primary function of a Summit Point Paramedic/Firefighter is to provide Basic Life Support care to those in need at our facility within the guidelines set forth by the State of West Virginia Office of EMS. The paramedic/Firefighter should be able to operate and maintain ambulance and equipment and maintain skill sets, and certifications as required. Paramedic/Firefighters must protect the Summit Point Training Facility property which includes high speed racetracks, buildings, wooded areas, explosive ranges and other structures and areas. The position participates in fire suppression, vehicle extrication/stabilization, and standby for the explosives range.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Perform daily check offs of equipment, ambulance, and fire truck to ensure they are in working order to respond to emergencies.
Perform triage and a variety of emergency medical treatments as an BLS provider as well as provide continuing care while enroute to the hospital.
Follow West Virginia State Office of EMS protocols which include both invasive and non-invasive medical treatments. Skills/Therapies are included but not limited to assessment and evaluation of the ill and injured, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, administration of medications, applications of dressings and bandages, advanced airways management, and immobilizations.
Operate an ambulance and fire apparatus in a safe manner driving both emergency and non-emergency both on public roadways and motorsports tracks.
Work alongside and coordinate patient care with other members of the emergency services team to ensure all work safely together and for the best outcome of the patient.
Employ safe lifting and moving techniques.
Act as a mentor/preceptor for new hire EMTs, Paramedics and Firefighters.
Communicate professionally and effectively with both clients, coworkers, and over the radio channels.
Complete run sheets and other required documentation in their entirety in a clear and through manner.
Operate firefighting equipment such as pumps, extinguishers, and extrication tools in a safe and effective manner.
Coordinate with EMS crew on safe extrication and rescue efforts.
Coordinate landing zones when needed for emergency evacuations.
Performed related duties as assigned.
Maintain all required certifications for the Paramedic/Firefighter position.

Job Overview
The primary duty for this role is direct patient care in the 911 EMS setting. The EMT-B is the entry level care position for field staff which focuses primarily on Basic Life Support services and supporting Paramedics during the treatment of acutely ill or injured patients. There are two schedule options for this position, a permanent shift assignment with a 24/48 rotation and a Kelly day every 7 days or a float position that is not assigned to a permanent shift, working a combination of 12- and 24-hour shifts. Both schedules are guaranteed 48 hours per week.

Working Conditions
This is a mission critical position. The employee is required to report to work when there is adverse weather, on holidays and on short notice. The EMT must be available for work on any shift as requested by KCEAA. The position may require work beyond the scheduled shift as requested and/or until properly relieved or released. While performing the duties of this job, the EMT may work in outside weather conditions all times of year, near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that could include exposure to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals and exposure to extreme cold and heat. The EMT may also be exposed to blood, saliva and other body substances, as well as irrational, combative patients and bystanders. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the employee to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 150 pounds independently and 300 pounds or more with assistance. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, operate equipment with tools and controls, climb and balance, stoop, kneel and crouch and occasionally maneuver through challenging obstacles. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic will support the delivery of a comprehensive range of medical services. The EMT Paramedic will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. at DOS, and provide care to DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. WHAT YOU'LL DO
The primary function of a Summit Point Paramedic/Firefighter is to provide Basic Life Support care to those in need at our facility within the guidelines set forth by the State of West Virginia Office of EMS. The paramedic/Firefighter should be able to operate and maintain ambulance and equipment and maintain skill sets, and certifications as required. Paramedic/Firefighters must protect the Summit Point Training Facility property which includes high speed racetracks, buildings, wooded areas, explosive ranges and other structures and areas. The position participates in fire suppression, vehicle extrication/stabilization, and standby for the explosives range.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Perform daily check offs of equipment, ambulance, and fire truck to ensure they are in working order to respond to emergencies.
Perform triage and a variety of emergency medical treatments as an BLS provider as well as provide continuing care while enroute to the hospital.
Follow West Virginia State Office of EMS protocols which include both invasive and non-invasive medical treatments. Skills/Therapies are included but not limited to assessment and evaluation of the ill and injured, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, administration of medications, applications of dressings and bandages, advanced airways management, and immobilizations.
Operate an ambulance and fire apparatus in a safe manner driving both emergency and non-emergency both on public roadways and motorsports tracks.
Work alongside and coordinate patient care with other members of the emergency services team to ensure all work safely together and for the best outcome of the patient.
Employ safe lifting and moving techniques.
Act as a mentor/preceptor for new hire EMTs, Paramedics and Firefighters.
Communicate professionally and effectively with both clients, coworkers, and over the radio channels.
Complete run sheets and other required documentation in their entirety in a clear and through manner.
Operate firefighting equipment such as pumps, extinguishers, and extrication tools in a safe and effective manner.
Coordinate with EMS crew on safe extrication and rescue efforts.
Coordinate landing zones when needed for emergency evacuations.
Performed related duties as assigned.
Maintain all required certifications for the Paramedic/Firefighter position.

Qualifications
Minimum age: 18+
Required: Emergency Medical Technician Certification and valid NREMT Certification
Required: Able to obtain WV State EMT Certification (Provided)
Required training: HazMat, Bloodborne Pathogens, Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)
Preferred: Mental Health First Aid Certification
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Summit UTV and vehicle permit and
Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
Physical & Practical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds

Position Overview:
The Emergency Medical Technician performs duties associated with providing emergency medical care to the ill and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies.
Environmental and Mechanical Considerations:
The Emergency Medical Technician delivers transport services under the stresses of ground transport, with frequent exposure to blood/body fluids, in sometimes hazardous conditions, near moving mechanical parts and within high noise environments. Training and resources are available to mitigate risk as appropriate, but the responsibility to utilize those devices falls to the individual.
Minimum Required Educational Level:
Completion of an approved Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program
Preferred Educational Level:
One year of experience as an EMT.

Active, Non-Restricted EMT Certificate in West Virginia
Valid Driver's License
