PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. Staff receive support from clinical educators and advanced practice nurses. *Responsibilities:* * Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care. * Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient. * Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records. * Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects. * Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes. * Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team. * Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge. *What you will need* *Required:* * Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN within a specific time frame) * Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse. * BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association) *Preferred:* * BSN or MSN preferred * At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting *Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:* * Current knowledge of nursing skills and practice * Computer and audiovisual skills using various applications: internet, email, word processing * Ability to retrieve and interpret data * Effectively read, speak, write, compose and comprehend English * Effective eye and hand coordination * Ability to analyze and synthesize information within a short period of time * Effective problem-solving skills * Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize * Ability to work well with individuals and groups Pay Range: $38.92-$55.68 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
