Job Description: Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. The RN performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

This is a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (

), Emergency Department (
ED
) or also referred to as Emergency Services (

). At least

is required for this position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Active communication with the physicians and patients. Asses patient needs and perform emergency procedures. Address results of diagnostic studies, symptomatology and other actions. Respond quickly and accurately to any changes in the condition and/or response of patients. Enjoys a fast-paced environment and easily multitask.
Qualifications:
Current and valid State RN License from either Kansas (KS), Missouri (MO) or both. Completed a Nursing program from an accredited university. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or willing to get within 30 days upon hire. Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or willing to get within 30 days upon hire. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within six months upon hire.

Busy ER in level One Trauma Hospital -Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center
Our staff are proficient in Stroke and STEMI activations and established care guidelines
This is a fast-paced ER environment whose success is dependent on teamwork. We have 50 exam rooms and 6 trauma bays
We work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, Registration, etc. because we are truly in it together!
The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed.
Nurses can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. Everyone's voice matters
