Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia by evaluating patient response, and selecting, ordering, and administering medications, fluids, and ventilator support to maintain patient stability during transfer. Initiate and administer post-anesthesia pharmacological or fluid support of the cardiovascular system. Initiate and administer respiratory support to ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation in the post-anesthesia period. Evaluate the patient's response to anesthesia and surgery; take appropriate corrective action during the post-anesthesia period. Provide post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care. Discharge the patient from the post-anesthesia care unit. Manage emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining the disposition of patients, including providing airway management, administration of emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques. While we do care for trauma patients, trauma is not our main focus. We are a community hospital and care for medical patients. We also have a strong behavioral health patient population. Luckily, we have fantastic resources for behavioral health patients at LDS hospital, including a behavioral health access center, psychiatric ICU, and medical detox unit._ **Position Details** · **Benefits Eligible:** Yes · **Shift Details:** Full time, 36 hours/week + **STAFFING:** 06L, 10L, 12L, 15L, or 18L. Most new hires work about half days/swings and half nights, and will have more schedule flexibility after about a year. + **RATIOS:** Typical ED RN ratio is 1:4, Staffing is based on volumes; skeleton crew to begin/end day and increase in staffing as volumes increase + **SCHEDULING:** Schedule for 8 weeks at a time, RN will self-schedule based on seniority. About half shifts will be nights, at least 8 weekend shifts (weekend shifts start Friday night shift and continue through Sunday night shift), 2 on-call shifts, team is broken into groups for holiday scheduling (if you work thanksgiving year 1 you will have it off year 2.
