If you are a Field Service Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting **Process Tuner FieldEngineer** opportunity for you with our Power and Water Solutions team! **This role is based in our Houston, TX, but open to remote if you have previous process tuner and Ovation DCS experience and willing to travel 80%.**
This key contributor will play a major role in managing resources associated with the development and generation of our service & field projects business. You will also provide matrix supervision to a large group of FieldEngineer personnel in handling all aspects of these businesses in dealing with customers in the power industry.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Provide advanced process tuning for Boiler or BOP processes.
+ Work with plant operations teams, while at site, to ensure effective tuning of plant processes for optimized productivity of steam and electricity.
+ Develop and implement startup and tuning activities for major retrofit projects.
+ Generate and store tuning reports for all site tuning.
+ Work with stimulation group to startup and tune high fidelity systems for different customer units.
+ Conduct site acceptance and performance testing for major retrofit projects to meet contractual performance targets.
+ Apply highly specialized knowledge and skills in an advisory or technical assistant role to engineering and management teams on complex technical or related problems.
+ Contact customers to review and promote their needs for service, maintenance contracts, system adds, and stand-alone system requirements.
+ Develop and advise the implementation of "engineered system" projects or system adds using current and non-current technologies.
+ Provide project management on large projects during installation, start-up, or where it is required to supervise our subcontractors (such as system installers).
+ Provide recommendations for hiring of FieldEngineers and participate in interviews, performance evaluations, etc.
+ Analyze, investigate, and resolve customer warranty and policy claims. This requires an in-depth knowledge of the obligations and restrictions set forth by warranties and policies so that claims can be settled promptly and efficiently.

You serve as a strategic partner to build, grow, and maintain profitable and long-lasting relationships with key accounts. You show a tremendous amount of initiative in tough situations and are exceptional at spotting and seizing opportunities. You set stretch goals and objectives, pushing individuals or teams to perform at higher levels.
**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical degree.
+ A minimum of eight (8) years of fieldengineering related experience.
+ Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
+ Strong understanding of control schemes for Boiler and Turbine on conventional and combined cycle plants as well as water treatment and renewable power generating facilities.
+ Demonstrated experience tuning conventional, combined cycle, or renewable plants.
+ Willingness and ability to travel 80% of time, primarily in North America.
+ Capable of displaying a high degree of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and competence in day-to-day technical activities. Recognized as an authority in the industry and have demonstrated competence in related fields.
+ Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Within the Lifecycle Engineering team, as the GE9X Combustor Module Cost & Producibility Staff Engineer you will collaborate within the combustor module to implement design changes that reduce costs and enhance producibility. At this key pre-Entry into Service (EIS) phase of the GE9X program, you will play a critical role in preparing the team to identify cost and producibility ideas, oversee projects for the module, while also leading and executing on cost out and producibility design changes to implement before EIS and beyond. You will serve as the main focal for cost and producibility efforts within the Combustor module focused on redesigning for cost and producibility.

A GE Aerospace A&C Engineer serves as a focal for a commercial engine product line as a subject matter expert in airworthiness and certification, leads interactions with the agency in the Continued Operational Safety (COS) of our fieldedengine fleets, and is a liaison to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities (FCAAs). The A&C engineer also functions as an Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) Engineering Unit Member (EUM), authorized to approve data, witness tests, and perform other functions on behalf of the FAA.
Roles and Responsibilities
Represent GE Aerospace when interfacing with FAA or FCAAs (Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities) on Engineering, continued operational safety, and certification issues
Achieve authorization as an ODA EUM and finding compliance to FAA 14 CFR part 33 regulations
Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment
Utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals
Execute with some guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to other personnel assigned to support the effort on assigned projects and/or tasks
Mentor others in the organization
Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Define, develop, and improve business processes related to certification to improve quality and productivity within Airworthiness and Certification
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in aerospace, with at least 4 years recent experience working directly in aerospace design and systems.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with compliance to FAA airworthiness standards
Minimum of 6 years of technical leadership in areas of aircraft engine design and systems with a strong foundation in relevant aerospace engineering disciplines like aerodynamics, materials science, propulsion, and systems engineering

Significant commercial aircraft engine design and engine test experience of new and/or modified engine models

Knowledge of operator utilization and impact of field plans on engine operations within Continued Operational Safety framework of commercial fleet
Experience building and fostering positive external (technical) relationships
